Frankfort is a village in the town of Frankfort, Herkimer County, New York, United States. The population was 2,598 at the 2010 census, out of 7,636 people in the entire town. Like the town, the village is named after an early settler, Lawrence (Lewis) Frank. Frankfort is on the south side of the Erie Canal and east of Utica, New York. Jacob Frankfort
Jacob Frankfort (born 1801, date of death unknown) was the first known Jew to come to Los Angeles. He immigrated from Poland in 1841. He was joined by other Central European Jews. By 1855, there were 60 Jews living in Los Angeles. Frankfort arrived in Los Angeles as a member of the Rowland-Workman exploratory party. The party had come to the city from Santa Fe, New Mexico. Henri "Hans" Frankfort (24 February 1897 – 16 July 1954) was a Dutch Egyptology, Egyptologist, archaeologist and orientalism, orientalist. Early life and education Born in Amsterdam, into a "Reform Judaism, liberal Jewish" family, Frankfort studied history at the University of Amsterdam and then moved to London, where in 1924, he took an MA under Sir Flinders Petrie at the University College. Frank Frankfort Moore (1855–1931) was an Irish journalist, novelist, dramatist, and poet. He was a Belfast Protestant and a unionist, but his historical fiction during the years of Home Rule agitation did not shy from themes of Irish-Catholic dispossession. Frankfort, Washington
Frankfort is a ghost town in Pacific County, Washington on the mouth of the Columbia River near Portuguese Point. First homesteaded in 1876, a planned community was platted by two promoters, Frank Bourne and Frank Scott (whence the name) in 1890. Together they envisioned a resort community at the location. As there were no roads, and access to the area was only by boat, lots were sold on the premise that the railroad would eventually build a line through the community. A post office, general store, saloon, sawmill and a hotel were built and a newspaper, the ''Frankfort Chronicle'', was established.
