Franco-Yukonnais People
Franco-Yukonnais () are French Canadian or French-speaking residents of Yukon, a territory of Canada. French has full official language status in the Yukon. Demographics The Canada 2016 Census identified 1,575 residents of the territory as francophone, 4.4 percent of the territory's total population. Between 3,500 and 4,000 residents of the territory, or approximately 13 per cent of the total population, are of at least partial French descent. Community The primary institution of the Franco-Yukonnais community is the ''Association Franco-Yukonnaise'', a non-profit organization which coordinates many of the community's cultural activities and acts as the community's voice in political and social issues affecting the community. Franco-Yukonnais are served by the bi-weekly newspaper '' L'Aurore boréale''. Canada 2016 Census
The 2016 Canadian census was an enumeration of Canadian residents, which counted a population of 35,151,728, a change from its 2011 population of 33,476,688. The census, conducted by Statistics Canada, was Canada's seventh quinquennial census. The official census day was May 10, 2016. Census web access codes began arriving in the mail on May 2, 2016. The 2016 census marked the reinstatement of the mandatory long-form census, which had been dropped in favour of the voluntary National Household Survey for the 2011 census. With a response rate of 98.4%, this census is said to be the best one ever recorded since the 1666 census of New France. This census was succeeded by Canada's 2021 census. Ici Radio-Canada Première (formerly Première Chaîne) is a Canadian French-language radio network, the news and information service of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (known as Société Radio-Canada in French), the public broadcaster of Canada. It is the French counterpart of CBC Radio One, the CBC's similar English-language radio network. The service is available across Canada, although not as widely as CBC Radio One. Only the provinces of Quebec and Ontario are served by more than one ''Première'' originating station. Dawson City
Dawson City is a town in the Canadian territory of Yukon. It is inseparably linked to the Klondike Gold Rush (1896–1899). Its population was 1,577 as of the 2021 census, making it the second-largest municipality in Yukon. CBC Radio One Local Programming

CFWH-FM
CFWH-FM is a Canadian radio station broadcasting at 94.5 MHz FM in Whitehorse, Yukon. The station broadcasts the programming of the CBC Radio One network known as CBC North. Until its closure in 2012, CFWH's sister television station was CFWH-TV. History CFWH began broadcasting on February 24, 1944 as a radio station owned and operated by the Northwest Service Command of the United States Army Service Forces, the entity then responsible for maintenance of the Alaska Highway. The station was staffed by members of the United States Army, with programming furnished by the Special Services.
