Fox Corporation
Fox Corporation (commonly referred to as Fox Corp or simply Fox) is an American multinational mass media company headquartered at 1211 Avenue of the Americas, 1211 Avenue of the Americas in Midtown Manhattan, with offices also in Burbank, California. Named after William Fox (producer), William Fox Delaware General Corporation Law, Incorporated in Delaware, it was formed as a spin-off of 21st Century Fox's television broadcasting, news, and sports assets on March 19, 2019. 21CF went defunct the next day. The company is controlled by the Murdoch family via a family trust with 39.6% ownership share, and by Rupert Murdoch himself to the effect of almost 40%. Fox Sports
Fox Sports is the brand name for a number of sports channels, broadcast divisions, programming, and other media around the world. The name originates from Fox Broadcasting Company in the United States, which in turn derives its name from Fox Film (which merged with Twentieth Century Pictures to form 20th Century Fox in 1935), named after founder William Fox (producer), William Fox. The ''Fox Sports'' name has since been used for other sports media assets. The Fox Sports Media Group is the American sports programming division of Fox Corporation that is responsible for sports broadcasts carried by the Fox Broadcasting Company, as well as operating television networks Fox Sports 1 (FS1) and Fox Sports 2 (FS2), and Fox Sports Radio. Fox Sports Australia Pty Limited (formerly Premier Media Group Pty Limited) is the division of Foxtel that owns and operates the Fox Sports television networks and digital properties in Australia. The group operates nine Fox Sports Channels as well as Fox Sports News, Fox Cricket, Fox League, Fox Footy, Watch AFL and Watch NRL. Fox Life, now rebranded as Star Life and FX Life, was an international pay television network, launched by the Fox Networks Group in 2004. The network has been discontinued in several markets over time. Fox is a defunct series of international television channels which used to be operated by Fox Networks Group, a division of 21st Century Fox. The network was affiliated with Fox Broadcasting Company from its inception until Disney's acquisition of 21st Century Fox in 2019. In the following years, several Fox networks worldwide were renamed, with most adopting the formerly Asian-centric brand Star based upon the Star hub available on Disney+ with most channels transitioned to being branded as Star Channel, while networks in the Baltic states, CIS, Greece and Poland instead transitioned to being branded as FX, and certain other networks were discontinued outright due to refocus for Disney+. Fox was a basic cable television channel broadcasting in Hungary, operated by Fox Networks Group and launched on 4 February 2014. It ceased operations on 30 April 2018.
