Four Hills Tournament
The Four Hills Tournament () or the German-Austrian Ski Jumping Week () is a ski jumping event composed of four World Cup events and has taken place in Germany and Austria each year since 1953. With few exceptions, it has consisted of the ski jumping events held at Oberstdorf, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Innsbruck and Bischofshofen, in this order. The Four Hills Tournament champion is the one who gets the most points over the four events. Unlike the World Cup ranking, however, the actual points scored during the competitions are the ones that are used to determine the winner. In 2005–06, Janne Ahonen and Jakub Janda shared the overall victory after finishing with exactly the same points total after the four competitions. In 2001–02, the anniversary 50th edition, Sven Hannawald was the first to achieve the ''grand slam'' of ski jumping, winning all four events in the same edition. Paul-Ausserleitner-Schanze ("Paul Ausserleitner Hill") was opened in 1947 as "Hochkönigsschanze", re-built in 2004, and is a ski jumping venue in Bischofshofen, Austria. It is one of the more important venues in the FIS Ski jumping World Cup, annually hosting the fourth and final competition of the prestigious Four Hills Tournament. The International Ski and Snowboard Federation, also known as FIS (), is the highest international governing body for skiing and snowboarding. It was previously known as the International Ski Federation () until 26 May 2022 when the name was changed to include snowboard. A lucky loser is a sports competitor (player or team) who loses a match in a knockout tournament or loses in qualifying, but who then enters the main draw. Dawid Grzegorz Kubacki ( ; born 12 March 1990) is a Polish Ski jumping, ski jumper. The Bergisel Ski Jump (), whose stadium has a capacity of 26,000, is a ski jumping hill located in Bergisel in Innsbruck, Austria. It is one of the more important venues in the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup, annually hosting the third competition of the prestigious Four Hills Tournament. Its first competitions were held in the 1920s using simple wood constructions. The larger hill was first built in 1930 and was rebuilt before the 1964 Winter Olympics for the individual large hill event. Michael "Michi" Hayböck (; born 5 March 1991) is an Austrian former Ski jumping, ski jumper. Career He took his first World Cup win on 6 January 2015 in Bischofshofen in the final event of the 2014–15 Four Hills Tournament, Four Hills Tournament 2014/15. He is a junior world champion from Hinterzarten 2010. Hayböck competed for Austria in both individual men's ski jumping events at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. He qualified for the finals in both events and placed 5th in the normal hill competition and 8th in the large hill. Then as part of the Austrian team along with Thomas Morgenstern, Thomas Diethart and Gregor Schlierenzauer he took a silver in the team large hill competition at the same games. Sigurd Pettersen
Sigurd Pettersen (born 28 February 1980) is a Norwegian former ski jumper. His greatest achievement is winning the 2003–04 Four Hills Tournament, with wins in Oberstdorf, Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Bischofshofen. Pettersen also won two bronze medals in the team large hill events at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships (2003, 2005) and had his best individual finish of 10th in the 2005 event. He won a gold medal in the team event at the FIS Ski-Flying World Championships 2004. Pettersen's best individual finish at the Winter Olympics was 24th in the individual large hill at Turin in 2006. He also has six individual career victories, all in the large hill, from 2002 to 2004. Pettersen's own ski club is ''Rollag og Veggli'' in Rollag, Norway.
