The Russian Premier League (RPL; , ''Rossiyskaya premyer-liga''; РПЛ), also written as Russian Premier Liga, is a professional association football league in Russia and the highest level of the Russian football league system. It was established at the end of 2001 as the Russian Football Premier League (RFPL; ; РФПЛ) and was rebranded with its current name in 2018. From 1992 through 2001, the top level of the Russian league system was the Russian Football Championship (, ''Chempionat Rossii po Futbolu''). There are 16 teams in the competition. FC Sportakademklub Moscow () is a Russian professional association football club, based in Moscow. It played professionally overall from 1994 to 2010. One of its known players was Ilyos Zeytulayev, playing in the youth squad. History The football club was founded in 1992. In that year, the football team Mashinostroitel was organised in the town of Sergiyev Posad near Moscow at the local machine-building plant and they stayed there until 1997. FC FSHM Moscow () is a Russian football team from Moscow. It played professionally from 1979 to 1996. FShM stands for "Football School of Youth" (Futbolnaya Shkhola Molodyozhi) and during Soviet times many junior players from Moscow played on the team to gain their initial professional experience. The Serp i Molot Moscow sports club (, meaning " Sickle and Hammer") was a Soviet and now Russian sports club in the city of Moscow. The club represents the Moscow Metallurgical Plant Serp i Molot since 1922 initially as the Astakhov Club of Sports (AKS) and the Astakhov district club (Rayony klub imeni Astakhova, RKimA). Russian Amateur Football League
Russian championship among amateur football clubs (III division) () is the fifth overall tier of the Russian football league system. Sometimes it is called Amateur Football League, after the organization that holds the competition (). The league has amateur/semi-pro status. At the end of each season ten teams are promoted from the Amateur Football League to the fully-professional Second Division Division B, located one step above (even though often the winning teams voluntarily choose to stay in the AFL due to higher financial commitments in the Second Division). Bottom-ranked clubs in the first divisions of Moscow, Moscow Oblast, and Siberia may be or are relegated to the second (fifth tier). The league is divided into ten regional divisions. FC Dynamo-2 Moscow () is a Russian football team from Moscow. It is the farm-club for FC Dynamo Moscow. History In 2016, it was revived after the parent club, Dynamo, was relegated from the Russian Football Premier League (which holds its own competition for the Under-21 teams of the Premier League clubs) and licensed to play in the third-tier Russian Professional Football League for the 2016–17 season. Majority of the squad participated in the 2016–17 UEFA Youth League as well. On 17 June 2017, the parent club announced that, following Dynamo's return to the Premier League, the reserves squad will now again play in the youth tournament conducted by the Premier League, and the separate professional Dynamo-2 squad is therefore dissolved.
