Football In Bonaire
The sport of association football in the island of Bonaire is run by the Bonaire Football Federation. The association administers the men's national team, the women's national team, as well as the Bonaire League. League History With football evidenced as early as 1923, Bonaire's football history is deep, albeit closely tied with that of neighbouring Curaçao. Competition started sporadically, with two attempted associations starting and subsequently folding. Evidence of the league is very limited though, but matches off the island certainly happened as early as 10 June 1956, when Bonaire club Flamingo played Blitz from Sint Maarten, with further matches in 1959 and 1961 on Aruba. Sport Vereniging Britannia is an Aruban football club, which currently plays in Aruba's first division. They are based in Piedra Plat. History SV Britannia was founded in 1958, when an official football team was organised for the local youngsters in Piedra Plat and vicinity. The colors of SV Britannia was chosen in the first board meeting: yellow and red. They played their first game in 1960, when beating Vitesse Cashero 3–1. 2019 CONCACAF U-17 Championship Qualifying
The qualifiers of the 2019 CONCACAF U-17 Championship took place between 16–25 March and 1–7 April 2019. All matches were played at the IMG Academy campus in Bradenton, Florida, United States. Teams The 41 CONCACAF teams were ranked based on the CONCACAF Men’s Under-17 Ranking as of May 2017. A total of 35 teams entered the tournament. The highest-ranked 16 entrants were exempt from qualifying and advanced directly to the group stage of the final tournament, while the lowest-ranked 19 entrants had to participate in qualifying. The CONCACAF Nations League (, ) is an association football competition organized by CONCACAF as its secondary continental tournament for men's senior national teams from North America, Central America and the Caribbean. The tournament takes place on dates allocated for international friendlies on the FIFA International Match Calendar. A one-time qualifying tournament took place from September 2018 to March 2019, with its inaugural edition in 2019. History and format competition The tournament was announced in November 2017. Caribbean Cup
The Caribbean Cup was an association football competition organized by CFU as its top regional tournament for men's senior national teams from the Caribbean. The tournament was held from 1989 to 2017, as the direct successor competition of the CFU Championship and also served as a qualification method for the CONCACAF Gold Cup. Trinidad and Tobago, eight-time champions, and Jamaica, six-time champions, were the most successful teams, winning a combined 14 titles of 18 editions. Martinique, Haiti, Cuba and Curaçao also won the tournament. In 1990 on the day of the final, an insurrection in Trinidad and Tobago, the host nation, by the Jamaat al Muslimeen forced an abandonment of the tournament with only the final and 3rd place play-off game remaining.
