Flint Generals (CoHL) Players
The Flint Generals were a minor professional ice hockey team based in Flint, Michigan. They were a member of the International Hockey League and played their home games at the Industrial Mutual Association (IMA) Sports Arena. The Generals won two league championships Colonial Cups in the Colonial Hockey League and United Hockey League. History Flint had been home to minor professional hockey in some incarnation since 1969, except for a one-year break in the 1990–91 season. This incarnation of the Flint Generals came about in the 1993–94 season after the Colonial Hockey League's (CoHL) Flint Bulldogs owner Skip Probst moved the Bulldogs from Flint to Utica, New York. The following summer, Dr. Khaled M. Shukairy was granted an expansion franchise in the CoHL to play in Flint. Flint is the largest city in Genesee County, Michigan, United States, and its county seat. Kevin Kerr (ice Hockey)
Kevin Kerr (born September 18, 1967) is a Canadian retired professional hockey player and former head coach of the Flint Generals of the United/International Hockey League. Career Kerr was drafted in the third round, 56th overall of the 1986 NHL Draft by the Buffalo Sabres. On February 4, 2015, Kerr was named the inaugural head coach of the Macon Mayhem of the Southern Professional Hockey League. The club played their first game in October 2015. In his second season as Macon's head coach he won the SPHL's coach of the year, and went on to win the league championship, giving Macon its first professional sports title since the 1962 Macon Peaches baseball team. Fort Wayne Komets
The Fort Wayne Komets are a minor league ice hockey team, which currently plays in the ECHL. They play their home games at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In all of North American professional hockey, only the Original Six teams of the NHL and the Hershey Bears of the AHL have played continuously in the same city with the same name longer than the Komets. History There have been two different hockey teams known as the Fort Wayne Komets. The original Komets franchise was founded in 1952 in the International Hockey League. Muskegon Lumberjacks (1992–2010)
The Muskegon Lumberjacks are a Tier I junior ice hockey team in the Eastern Conference of the United States Hockey League. They play in Muskegon, Michigan, at Trinity Health Arena. The Lumberjacks replaced the International Hockey League franchise (IHL) of the same name, which relocated to Evansville, Indiana, at the end of the 2009–10 IHL season. Cory Cyrenne
Cory Cyrenne (born August 25, 1977) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He was named the Canadian Junior A Hockey Player of the Year in 1995 and received a hockey scholarship to Colorado College. He was also named the CHL's Sportsmanlike player of the year in 1998. Cyrenne played junior hockey with the Brandon Wheat Kings of the WHL. He was drafted 191st overall by the San Jose Sharks in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft. He attended the Sharks 1997 training camp, but was returned to Brandon, where he was the league's second-leading scorer in 1997–98. Cyrenne played professionally in several leagues, including the IHL and AHL. Ross Wilson (ice Hockey)
Ross Ingram "Lefty" Wilson (October 15, 1919 – November 4, 2002) was a Canadian ice hockey player. He served as an emergency goaltender on three separate occasions between 1953 and 1957, playing one game with each of the Detroit Red Wings, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Boston Bruins. Nick Stajduhar (born December 6, 1974) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. He was selected by the Edmonton Oilers in the first round of the 1993 NHL Entry Draft, 16th overall, a pick the Oilers received from the Los Angeles Kings in the Wayne Gretzky trade. Stajduhar only played two games for Edmonton, largely bouncing around the minor leagues, including three years in the East Coast Hockey League with the Pensacola Ice Pilots, as well as even lower level play with the Memphis Riverkings of the Central Hockey League and the Flint Generals of the United Hockey League. Mark Major
Mark Major (born March 20, 1970) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey left winger. He played two games in the National Hockey League with the Detroit Red Wings during the 1996–97 season. He was drafted 25th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 1988 NHL Entry Draft. Major acquired many penalty minutes over his career due to his playing style, which involved battling in front of the net for loose pucks, scoring garbage goals, and blocking the goaltenders view. Major only played in two NHL games, for the Detroit Red Wings. He also enjoyed a short career as a professional inline hockey player in Roller Hockey International (RHI).
