Eduard Ambrosis dze Shevardnadze ( ka, ედუარდ ამბროსის ძე შევარდნაძე; 25 January 1928 – 7 July 2014) was a Soviet and Georgian politician and diplomat who governed Georgia (country), Georgia for several non-consecutive periods from 1972 until his resignation in 2003 and also served as the final Soviet Minister of Foreign Affairs, Soviet minister of foreign affairs from 1985 to 1991. Mikheil Kavelashvili ( ka, მიხეილ ყაველაშვილი ; born 22 July 1971) is a Georgian politician and former professional footballer who was sworn in as the sixth president of Georgia on 29 December 2024. His election, the first through an electoral college after constitutional changes in 2017, is being disputed by the Georgian opposition, as well as by significant parts of the Western community. Dusheti () is a town in Georgia (country), Georgia, the administrative center of Dusheti Municipality, in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti mkhare, region, 54 km northeast of the nation's capital of Tbilisi. Nanuli Shevardnadze ( ka, ნანული შევარდნაძე, née Tsagareishvili, ცაგარეიშვილი; 9 March 1930 – 20 October 2004) was a Soviet and Georgian journalist and activist.
