Faker (band)
Faker are an Australian alternative rock band, formed in 1996 by mainstay Nathan Hudson on lead vocals, piano and guitar. They have released three studio albums, '' Addicted Romantic'' (June 2005), '' Be the Twilight'' (November 2007) and ''Get Loved'' (December 2011). Their highest charting single, " This Heart Attack" (2007), peaked at No. 9 on the ARIA Singles Chart. The group disbanded in December 2013, but they announced their reformation in October 2020. History 1996–2004: Formation and early releases Faker were formed in Sydney in 1996 by Andrew Day on drums, Chris Deal on guitar, Nathan Hudson on lead vocals, guitar and piano, and Paul Youdell on bass guitar. They were joined by Marco Fraietta ( Marco2000) on keyboards. The band spent five years performing gigs around Sydney. Alternative rock (also known as alternative music, alt-rock or simply alternative) is a category of rock music that evolved from the independent music underground of the 1970s. Paul Berryman
Paul Michael Berryman is an Australian musician who played drums for alternative rockers, the Superjesus (1994–2004, 2013–16), and Faker (2003–08). Nathan Hudson of Faker explained why Berryman had replaced founding drummer Andrew Day, "We could record something that would get people interested, but people would come to see us and go, 'Well, it's not convincing, it's not the band I heard on record'. When errymanjoined, the musical bar was lifted and it became more about the music and the songs." He was later a member of Miss Mandaband and then Vicious. Wolfmother
Wolfmother is an Australian hard rock band from Sydney. Formed in 2004, the group is centred around vocalist and guitarist Andrew Stockdale, who is the only constant member of the line-up. The band has been through many personnel changes since their formation. The original – and most commercially successful – line-up included bassist and keyboardist Chris Ross (musician), Chris Ross and drummer Myles Heskett. Ross and Heskett left Wolfmother after four years in 2008. Stockdale, Ross and Heskett formed Wolfmother in 2004 after several years of informal jamming. Signing with independent label Modular Recordings, the band released their Wolfmother (album), self-titled debut album in Australia in 2005, which reached number 3 on the domestic albums chart.
