Fabrika Zvyozd
''Fabrika Zvyozd'' (, literally "Factory of stars"), sometimes known internationally as ''Star Factory'', is a popular Russian television talent show that aired on Channel One Russia, Channel One from 2002 until 2007. It was the Russian version of the Endemol format ''Star Academy, Operación Triunfo''. In 2011, the show announced that it would be returning with an eighth, ''All-Star'' season and in 2012 for the ninth season with the format ''Star Factory: Russia vs. Ukraine''. The programme then went on a hiatus for five years before relaunching the tenth season in 2017 broadcast on Muz-TV. Nine out of ten seasons were hosted by Yana Churikova and one by Ksenia Sobchak. ''Fabrika Zvyozd'', meaning ''Star Factory'', stayed true to its name in Russia; many of the contestants, nicknamed as "fabrikanty" (Russian: фабриканты), have established successful careers in the Russian-language music world. A talent show or talent contest is an event in which participants perform the arts of singing, dancing, lip-syncing, acting, martial arts, playing an instrument, poetry, comedy or other activities to showcase skills. The Eurovision Song Contest (), often known simply as Eurovision, is an international Music competition, song competition organised annually by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) among its members since 1956. Each participating broadcaster submits an original song representing its country to be performed and broadcast live to all of them via the Eurovision (network), Eurovision and Euroradio networks, and then casts votes for the other countries' songs to determine a winner. Anastasia Kostyantynivna Prikhodko (; born 21 April 1987) is a Ukrainian activist, politician, and singer-songwriter. Dmitry Aleksandrovich Koldun (, Dzmitry Kaldun; ; born 11 June 1985) is a Belarusian pop singer. Koldun rose to fame through his participation in several Russian television talent shows.
