FC Spartak Ivano-Frankivsk
FC Spartak Ivano-Frankivsk was a Ukrainian football team based in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, Ukraine, the unofficial capital of the Prykarpattia region. History The club was founded in 1940 after the Soviet occupation of the Eastern Poland during the World War II. All previous local sports clubs were liquidated and replaced with "proletarian". In 1956 the club gained promotion to the Soviet Class B (second tier) by winning a play-off match-up against SKCF Sevastopol in 1955. Since that time, Ivano-Frankivsk had at least one club in football competitions among teams of masters until dissolution of the Soviet Union. In 1981 until 2003 the club competed under the name FC Prykarpattia Ivano-Frankivsk and in 1989 (the Perestroika epoch) was converted from team of masters to professional club by "western standards". MCS Rukh
Municipal Central Stadium "Rukh" () is the multi-purpose central stadium of the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. The stadium is located at 128 Vyacheslav Chernovol Street, the city of Ivano-Frankivsk 750447. It has a capacity of 15,000 spectators and 6,200 individual plastic seats. By the end of its renovations the capacity of Rukh should be over 20,000 at the end of renovations. Overview The stadium is being built in sectors, with only one remaining to be finished. The turf and the stadium in whole are useful for many sporting events. The stadium has two big stands located across one another and gather the majority of spectators. The stadium is located in the city park named after Taras Shevchenko. Ihor Yurchenko
Ihor Mykolayovych Yurchenko (; born in 5/9/1960) is the Soviet and Ukrainian professional footballer known for his performance in the Ukrainian club Prykarpattia Ivano-Frankivsk. Ihor has a younger brother Mykola Yurchenko whose name is also tightly intertwined with the fate of the western Ukrainian club. Playing career He made his professional debut in the tournament for Spartak Ivano-Frankivsk in 1977. Throughout of his career played for different clubs of the Soviet Top League such as Shakhtar Donetsk, SKA Rostov-na-Donu, and Chornomorets Odessa. With the fall of the Soviet Union Yurchenko was on the roster of the football club Prykarpattia which was placed in the Ukrainian Premier League in 1992 after finishing second in the Soviet fourth division. He stayed with the club before its return to the Premiers after the 1994–95 season, becoming the playing coach for the team.
