FC Porto Players
FC Porto, Futebol Clube do Porto is a Portuguese sports club based in Porto that is best known for its professional association football, football team playing in the country's top-tier division, the Primeira Liga. Porto played their first match a few days after the club's foundation in 1893, but only began playing competitively in 1911, when they took part and won the first José Monteiro da Costa Cup. Fernando Mendes Soares Gomes (22 November 1956 – 26 November 2022) was a Portuguese professional association football, footballer who played as a striker (association football), striker. Diogo Meireles da Costa (; born 19 September 1999) is a Portugese professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Primeira Liga club Porto, which he captains. Born in Switzerland, he plays for the Portugal national team. He is considered one of the best goalkeepers in the world. Coming through Porto's youth system, Costa won the UEFA Youth League in 2019. The Taça da Liga (), known outside Portugal as Portuguese League Cup, is an annual club football competition organised by the Liga Portuguesa de Futebol Profissional (LPFP) for teams competing in the top two tiers of Portuguese football – the Primeira Liga and Liga Portugal 2. Taça De Portugal
The Taça de Portugal (; ) is an annual association football competition and the premier knockout tournament in Portuguese football. For sponsorship reasons, it has been known as Taça de Portugal Generali Tranquilidade since the 2024–25 season. Organised by the Portuguese Football Federation since it was first held in 1938, the competition is open to professional and amateur clubs from the top-four league divisions. Matches are played from August–September to May–June, and the final is traditionally held at the Estádio Nacional in Oeiras, near Lisbon.
