The Yud-Alef Stadium (, ''Etztadion HaYudAlef'', lit. ''The 11 Stadium'') is a football stadium in Ashdod, Israel, that was built for local football sides Maccabi Ashdod, Beitar Ashdod (both merged in 1981 to form Maccabi Ironi Ashdod) and Hapoel Ashdod (merged with Ironi Ashdod in 1999 to create F.C. Ashdod). The stadium was given the name "Yud-Alef" in 1973, after the eleven Israeli athletes murdered in the Munich massacre ( Yud-Alef is used in Hebrew numerals used to represent the number 11). Ariel Harush (or Harosh, ; born 25 May 1988) is an Israeli footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for F.C. Ashdod and the Israel national team. Harush's time at Beitar Jerusalem was featured in the 2016 documentary ''Forever Pure'', where he stood against racism and hate from the fans toward two new Muslim Chechnyan players. Harush was ultimately hounded out the club by the right-wing fanbase La Familia and left to play for Maccabi Netanya. The 2015–16 Liga Leumit was the 17th season as second tier since its re-alignment in 1999 and the 74th season of second-tier football in Israel. A total of sixteen teams were contesting in the league, including eleven sides from the 2014–15 season, the three promoted teams from 2014–15 Liga Alef and the two relegated teams from 2014–15 Israeli Premier League. Hapoel (, ) is an Israeli Jewish sports association established in 1926 by the Histadrut Labor Federation.
