Elected (song)
"Elected" is a song by American rock band Alice Cooper, released in 1972 as the first single off their sixth album '' Billion Dollar Babies''. It reached number 26 during election week on charts in the United States, number 4 in the United Kingdom and number 3 in Austria. The promotional music video was directed by Hart Perry. Composition "Elected" is a hard rock song with glam rock influences. Its political theme was inspired by the 1972 United States presidential election. Cooper called the song “total political satire," and added “we hated politics, but the idea of Alice, the scourge of the entire world, being president was just too good.” Both the riff and part of the melody were recycled from "Reflected" which appeared on their 1969 album '' Pretties for You''. Legacy Joey Ramone acknowledged the similarity between "Elected" and his band's song " I Wanna Be Sedated" according to Alice Cooper. Elected (EP)
''Elected'' is the first EP by progressive metal project Ayreon, owned by Dutch musician Arjen Anthony Lucassen. It was released on 25 April 2008 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and on 28 April in the rest of Europe. It features the guest performance of German singer Tobias Sammet, from Avantasia and Edguy. The EP contains an Alice Cooper cover, an acoustic guitar and voice version of "E=MC²" and the track "Ride the Comet", both from the album ''01011001''. There is also a piano version of The Human Equation's "Day Six: Childhood". Some reviewers and also the CD-Text information on the CD itself call the EP ''The Universal Ayreonaut''. The album entered at #69 at the France Singles Top 100 and stayed in that position for three weeks. The Elected
The Elected are a Los Angeles–based indie rock band. The Elected have released two albums with Sub Pop: '' Me First'' in 2004, and '' Sun, Sun, Sun'' in 2006. A third album, '' Bury Me In My Rings'', was released on 17 May 2011. Members * Blake Sennett – guitar, keyboards, vocals * Mike Bloom – guitar, lap steel, keyboards * Daniel Brummel/Michael Runion/Nate Greely – Bass * Jason Boesel/Ryland Steen/ Sander Steen – Drums Sennett, Boesel and Bloom were also members of Rilo Kiley. Daniel Brummel plays with Ozma as well. Michael Runion plays solo when not playing live with The Elected. Ryland Steen currently plays with Reel Big Fish, while his younger brother Sander Steen is currently touring with The Elected.
