Education In Stockholm
Education in Stockholm goes back to 1583, when the small college Collegium Regium Stockholmense was founded in by King John III in Stockholm, Sweden. History and institutions Ten years after the opening of Collegium Regium Stockholmense it was shut down with most of its professors transferring to the revived University of Uppsala. Research and higher education in the sciences has an unbroken history since the 18th century, when an incomplete education in medicine was started under the auspices of the Collegium Medicorum (= Collegium medicum) and various research institutions (such as the Stockholm Observatory) were founded by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. The medical education was eventually formalized in the form of the Karolinska Institutet, founded in 1811. Royal Swedish Academy Of Arts
The Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts (), commonly called the Royal Academy, is located in Stockholm, Sweden. An independent organization that promotes the development of painting, sculpture, architecture, and other fine arts, it is one of several Swedish Royal Academies. Södertörn University
Södertörn University (, abbreviated as SH), is a public university college () located in Flemingsberg in Huddinge Municipality, and the larger area called Södertörn, in Stockholm County, Sweden. In 2013, it had about 13,000 full-time and part-time students. Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design, is a university college for higher education in the area of art, crafts and design in Stockholm, Sweden. History Konstfack has had several different names since it was founded in 1844 by the ethnologist and artist Nils Månsson Mandelgren as a part-time art school for artisans, under the name "Söndags-Rit-skola för Handtverkare" ("Sunday Drawing School for Artisans"). The school was taken over by ''Svenska Slöjdföreningen'' (today known as Svensk form) the next year and renamed ''Svenska Slöjdföreningens skola''. Stockholm University Of The Arts
The Stockholm University of the Arts () is a public University college (Scandinavia), university college created 1 January 2014 by merging the School of Dance and Circus, the University College of Opera, and the Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts. This is the result of the ministerial committee directive issued in 2012. The three institutions remained autonomous with regards to undergraduate studies, but the amalgamation intended to achieve critical mass and high quality environments for research and doctoral studies. The university has not used the names of its three predecessor institutions since 1 January 2020. Vice-chancellor is Paula Crabtree, and chairman of the board is KÃ¥re Bremer, former vice-chancellor of Stockholm University.
