Ecuador Open (tennis)
The Ecuador Open Quito was a men's tennis event on the ATP Tour held in the Ecuadorean capital of Quito. Begun in 2015, it was part of the ATP 250 Series. The tournament was played on outdoor clay courts. The event replaced the Chile Open. The city was previously home to the Quito Open, a Grand Prix-affiliated tournament played from 1979 to 1982. Quito is located at 2800 metres above sea level, more than twice as high than the Alps tournaments. Players must adapt to thinner air, which causes breathing difficulties and makes the ball faster. Victor Estrella Burgos won the title in 2015, successfully defended it in 2016 and did so again in 2017. João Olavo Soares de Souza (; born 27 May 1988) is a Brazilian former professional tennis player. Before receiving a lifetime ban for match-fixing, Souza competed mainly on the ATP Challenger Tour, both in singles and doubles. The Barcelona Open (currently sponsored by Banc Sabadell) is an annual tennis tournament for male professional players. The event was founded in 1953 as a combined men's and women's tournament until 1980. It is played at the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona, Barcelona, Spain on clay courts. The Córdoba Open was a men's ATP World Tour 250 series tournament played on outdoor clay courts until 2024. It was held for the first time as part of the 2019 ATP Tour, replacing the Ecuador Open (tennis), Ecuador Open Quito. The tournament took place at the "Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes#Facilities, Polo Deportivo Kempes", a sports complex next to Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes in Córdoba, Argentina.
