Easy Star Records is an American independent record label founded in 1996. Based in New York City, the label primarily produces and releases albums in the genres of reggae and Dub music, dub. The label has had multiple albums chart at No. 1 on the ''Billboard (magazine), Billboard'' Top Reggae Albums chart, including ''Easy Star All-Stars, Easy Star's Lonely Hearts Dub Band'', two albums by The Green (band), The Green, and ''Vines'' by Passafire, who signed to the label in 2013. Jesse Royal (musician)
Jesse David Royal (born 29 April 1989) is a Jamaican reggae musician. Early life Jesse Royal (Jesse David Leroi Grey) was born in St James Parish, Jamaica to a family of Maroon ancestry and Rasta faith. The Royal family relocated to Kingston in 1997 where his father took a job with a telecommunications firm. While in school Royal became friends with Daniel Bambata Marley, son of reggae artist Ziggy Marley. Music career Early life (2010–2016) Royal began his career being mentored by the late Fatis Burrell (the father of one of Royal's classmates), who produced Jesse's first two releases, ''Singing the Blues'' and ''Long Days and Short Nights'' in 2010. Dennis Emmanuel Brown CD (1 February 1957 – 1 July 1999) was a Jamaican reggae singer. During his prolific career, which began in the late 1960s when he was aged eleven, he recorded more than 75 albums and was one of the major stars of lovers rock, a subgenre of reggae. Johnny Osbourne
Johnny Osbourne (born Errol Osbourne, 1948) is a Jamaican reggae and dancehall singer, who rose to success in the late 1970s and mid-1980s. His album '' Truths and Rights'' was a roots reggae success, and featured "Jah Promise" and the album's title track, "Truths and Rights". He also enjoyed big hits with covers of U.S. soul tunes such as "Ready Or Not" and Earth, Wind and Fire's "Reasons". In addition, he has had many songs with the phrase 'Rub A Dub' in the title, the most acclaimed of these is to the "Rub A Dub Session". Yoko Ono
Yoko Ono (, usually spelled in katakana as ; born February 18, 1933) is a Japanese multimedia artist, singer, songwriter, and peace activist. Her work also encompasses performance art and filmmaking. Ono grew up in Tokyo and moved to New York City in 1952 to join her family. She became involved with New York City's downtown artists scene in the early 1960s, which included the Fluxus group, and became well known in 1969 when she married English musician John Lennon of the Beatles, with whom she would subsequently record as a duo in the Plastic Ono Band. Corey Harris (born February 21, 1969, in Denver, Colorado, United States) is an American blues and reggae musician, currently residing in Charlottesville, Virginia. Along with Keb' Mo' and Alvin Youngblood Hart, he raised the flag of acoustic guitar blues in the mid-1990s.
