Dutch Basketball Supercup
The Dutch Basketball Supercup, also known as the DBL Supercup, is the super cup competition of professional basketball in the Netherlands. The match is played by the champions of the Dutch Basketball League and the winner of the NBB Cup. It is a super cup competition. The first Supercup game was held in 2011. The record holder for most Supercup titles is ZZ Leiden, who have won four trophies. Dutch Basketball League
The Dutch Basketball League (DBL), formerly the Eredivisie, was the highest professional basketball league in the Netherlands, run by the Federatie Eredivisie Basketball (FEB). Since 2021, the league has been replaced by the Belgian-Dutch BNXT League. The league had a closed system: to participate, a team has to have enough money and potential. The league began in 1960 as the ''Eredivisie'' and was organized by the NBB and later the FEB. In 1977 the league introduced play-offs. As of 2019, the Dutch Basketball League consists of ten teams and plays under the FIBA rules. Vijf Meihal
The Vijf Meihal () is a now-closed sports complex located in the Dutch city of Leiden. It was used as a sports arena since 1968, as the former home base of professional basketball club ZZ Leiden, who used it up until 2024 when they moved to the Sportcomplex 1574. History Construction began on 14 February 1968 and was opened on 24 September 1968. The municipality of Leiden built the hall as a temporary venue, as it expected to build another larger sports center soon. The design was inspired by other Swedish sports halls and was considered cheap, as costs were 1.5 million Dutch guilder. The hall was used for B.S. Leiden's basketball team and was often crowded by 2,500–3,000 supporters, which overflowed the hall's capacity. In 1986, the basketball club dissolved its activities, due to the lack of a major sponsor as well as the limited seating capacity of the Vijf Meihal. Heroes Den Bosch is a Dutch professional basketball club based in 's-Hertogenbosch. The club plays in the BNXT League since 2021 and in the top basketball division in the Netherlands since 1972. Founded as EBBC in 1951, the club had several sponsored names the following decades. Den Bosch has won a record seventeen List of Dutch basketball champions, Dutch championships, a record nine Dutch Basketball Cup, Dutch Cups and two Dutch Basketball Supercup, Dutch Supercup titles.
