Donald Duck Comics
Donald Duck, a cartoon character created by the Walt Disney Company, is today the star of dozens of comic-book and comic-strip stories published each month around the world. In many European countries, Donald is considered the lead character in Disney comics, more important and beloved than Mickey Mouse. In America, the ''Donald Duck'' comic strip debuted on February 7, 1938, following a 1936-1937 trial run in the ''Silly Symphony'' Sunday page. The strip ran for more than 50 years, ending in 1995. The ''Donald Duck'' comic book first appeared as part of Dell Comics' ''Four Color Comics'' one-shot series, beginning in 1942 (published as ''Four Color'' #9). Donald Fauntleroy Duck is a cartoon character created by the Walt Disney Company. Donald is an Anthropomorphism, anthropomorphic white duck with a yellow-orange bill, legs, and feet. Federico Pedrocchi
Federico Pedrocchi (1 May 1907 – 20 January 1945) was an Italian comic book artist and writer. He sometimes used the pen name Costanzo Federici. He founded the magazine ''Paperino e altre avventure'' (''Donald Duck and Other Adventures'') in 1937, and wrote some of the earliest Disney comic book stories. Life and career Pedrocchi was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina of Italian parents, and he moved back to Italy with his family in 1912. Forced to interrupt his studies because of his father's death, in 1930 he opened a small advertising studio and the same year he started collaborating as illustrator with the children magazine '' Corriere dei Piccoli'' and with a number of other magazines, notably ''La Domenica del Corriere''. Arnoldo Mondadori Editore () is the biggest publishing company in Italy. History The company was founded in 1907 in Ostiglia by 18-year-old Arnoldo Mondadori who began his publishing career with the publication of the magazine ''Luce!''. ''Mickey Mouse Weekly'' is a 1936–1957 weekly British tabloid Disney comics magazine, the first British comic with full colour photogravure printing. It was launched by Willbank Publications and later continued by Odhams Press. The comics were said to be "drawn in a slick, smooth style which was clearly influenced by American comics." ''Mickey Mouse Weekly'' featured American reprints as well as original British Disney comics material, including the first Donald Duck comic book serial. Donna Duck
Daisy Duck is an American cartoon character created by the Walt Disney Company. She is an anthropomorphic white duck that has large eyelashes and ruffled tail feathers around her lowest region to suggest a skirt. She is often seen wearing a hair bow, blouse and heeled shoes. The girlfriend of Donald Duck, Daisy was introduced in the short film '' Mr. Duck Steps Out'' (1940) and was incorporated into Donald's comic stories several months later. Carl Barks, the screenwriter and lead storyboard artist for the film, was inspired by the 1937 short, '' Don Donald'', that featured a Latin character named Donna Duck, to revive the concept of a female counterpart for Donald.
