Districts Of Uganda
As of 1 July 2020, Uganda is divided into 135 districts plus the capital city of Kampala, which are grouped into four Regions of Uganda, geographic regions. Since 2005, the Ugandan government has been in the process of dividing districts into smaller units. This decentralization is intended to prevent resources from being distributed primarily to chief towns and leaving the remainder of each district neglected. Each district is further divided into Counties of Uganda, counties and municipalities, and each county is further divided into Sub-counties of Uganda, sub-counties. The head elected official in a district is the chairperson of the Local Council (Uganda), Local Council five (usually written with a Roman numeral V). Kalangala District
Kalangala, also known as Ssesse, is a Districts of Uganda, district in Central Region, Uganda, Central Uganda. The district is coterminous with the Ssese Islands in Lake Victoria and does not have territory on mainland Uganda. Like other Ugandan districts, it is named after its 'chief town', Kalangala which is located on Bugala Island, the largest of the Ssese Islands. To reach Kalangala town on Bugala island one has to board a boat at specified points (ports/landing sites) or use one of the MV Ssese, Ferries sailing through the Bukakata-Luku route that joins the town with the mainland in Masaka District. There is also a relatively longer route that passes via Nakiwogo in Wakiso district to connect to Lutoboka on Bugala Island. Mubende District
Mubende is a district in the Central Region of Uganda. The town of Mubende is the site of the district headquarters. The district was reduced in size in July 2005 with the creation of the Mityana District and reduced again in 2019 when Kassanda District was carved out of it. Location Mubende District is bordered by Kyankwanzi District to the north, Kiboga District and Kassanda to the northeast and Mityana District to the east. Mpigi District
Mpigi District is a district in Central Uganda. Like most other Ugandan districts, it is named after its 'main town', Mpigi. Location Mpigi District is bordered by Wakiso District to the north and east, Kalangala District to the south, Kalungu District to the southwest, Butambala District to the west and Mityana District to the northwest. Mityana District
The Mityana District is a district in the Central Region of Uganda. The district was created in 2005, by taking the Mityana and Busujju counties from Mubende District. Mityana is the site of the district headquarters. Location The Mityana District is bordered by Kiboga District to the north, Nakaseke District to the northeast, Wakiso District to the east, Mubende District to the west, Mpigi District to the southeast, and Butambala and Gomba Districts to the south. Masaka District
Masaka District is a Districts of Uganda, district in Buganda, Buganda Kingdom in Uganda. Its main town is Masaka City, whose estimated population in 2011 was 74,100. Location The district is bordered by Masaka, Masaka City to the north-west and west, Kalungu District to the north, Kalangala District to the east, and Kyotera District to the south-west and south. Lyantonde District is a district in southern Central Uganda (Buganda). It is named after the 'chief town' of the district, Lyantonde, where the district headquarters are located. Lwengo District is a district in the Central Region of Uganda. Lwengo is the largest town in the district and the location of the district headquarters. Luwero District
Luweero District (also spelled as Luwero) is a district in the Central Region of Uganda. Luweero is the site of the district headquarters. Kyotera District

Kyankwanzi District
Kyankwanzi District is the westernmost district in the Central Region of Uganda and Buganda Kingdom, bordering Bunyoro. The district headquarters are in Butemba Town. Geography The Kyankwanzi District borders Nakaseke District to the east across the Mayanja River, Kiboga District to the south-east, Mubende District and Kibaale District to the south-west across the Lugogo River, and Hoima and Masindi districts to the north across the River Kafu.
