Dededo, Guam
Dededo (; Spanish: ) is the most populated village in the United States territory of Guam. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Dededo's population was just under 45,000 in 2020. The village is located on the coral plateau of Northern Guam. The greater Dededo-Machanao-Apotgan Urban Cluster had a population of 139,825 as of the 2010 census, making up 87.7% of Guam's population and 29.8% of its area. Etymology The origin of the village name Dededo (CHamoru: ''Dedidu''), may have come from measuring the original village using fingers, as the Spanish word for finger is ''dedo''. Another possibility is the word ''dededo'' comes from the word ''dedeggo'', "heel of the foot," or ''deggo,'' "to walk on tiptoes." Andersen Air Force Base (Andersen AFB, AAFB) is a United States Air Force base located primarily within the village of Yigo in the United States territory of Guam. The host unit at Andersen AFB is the 36th Wing (36 WG), assigned to the Pacific Air Forces Eleventh Air Force. As a non-flying wing, the 36 WG's mission is to provide support to deployed air and space forces of USAF, foreign air forces to Andersen, and tenant units assigned to the base. South Finegayan Latte Stone Park
The South Finegayan Latte Stone Park is a small public park and archaeological site at 74 Golden Shower Lane in Dededo, Guam. Located in the United States Navy housing area known as Finegayan, it encompasses the remains of a latte stone house site, which are the only remnants of a once-extensive Chamorro village in the area. Radiocarbon dating and other evidence place the occupation period at this site at c. 1700, and for only a relatively short period of time (about 100 years). Haputo Beach Site
The Haputo Beach Site is a prehistoric village site in northwestern Guam. The site, located on Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station Guam land near a sheltered cove, includes standing latte stones, as well as rock shelters and caves with evidence of human occupation. In addition to needing military permission for access to the site, the main trail leads through the Navy's Haputo Ecological Preserve. Two Lovers Point
Two Lovers Point ( Chamorro: Puntan Dos Amåntes) is a prominent cape and seaside cliff in Tamuning, Guam, that overlooks northern Tumon Bay and the Philippine Sea. One of four National Natural Landmarks on Guam, it is closely associated with the folktale of two doomed lovers and is a major tourist attraction. Ritidian Point
The Guam National Wildlife Refuge is composed of three units: the Andersen Air Force Base Overlay Unit (Air Force Overlay Unit), the Navy Overlay Unit, and the Ritidian Unit.
