Euploea
''Euploea'' is a genus of milkweed butterflies. The species are generally dark in coloration, often quite blackish, for which reason they are commonly called crows. As usual for their subfamily, they are poisonous due to feeding on milkweeds and other toxic plants as caterpillars. The latter are aposematically colored to warn off predators from eating them, and the adult butterflies are often mimicked by unrelated species which are not or less poisonous. Milkweed Butterflies
Danainae is a subfamily of the family Nymphalidae, the brush-footed butterflies. The group may be referred to as the Danaids (reflecting their previous rank as a family) or milkweed butterflies, as they often lay their eggs on various milkweeds on which their larvae (caterpillars) feed, though it also encompasses the clearwing butterflies (Ithomiini), and the Tellervini. Some 300 species of Danainae exist worldwide. Most of the Danaini are found in tropical Asia and Africa, while the Ithomiini are diverse in the Neotropics. Tellervini are restricted to Australia and the Oriental region. Four species are found in North America: the monarch butterfly ('' Danaus plexippus''), the queen ('' Danaus gilippus''), the tropical milkweed butterfly ('' Lycorea halia''), and the soldier butterfly (or "tropic queen", '' Danaus eresimus''). Of these, the monarch is by far the most famous, being one of the most recognizable butterflies in the Americas. Taxonomy Milkweed butterflies are now ...

Idea (genus)
''Idea'' (''Hestia'' in older literature) is a genus of butterflies known as tree nymphs or paper butterflies. The member species are concentrated around South-East Asia. See '' Sevenia'' for the genus of African tree nymphs. These slender butterflies have very large, papery white wings with black veins and markings. They stay high up in the treetops where they flap around in slow flight. Like most other monarch butterflies ( Danaini ), wood nymphs are poisonous, and the striking colour patterns signal this. Several butterflies from other groups mimic these patterns. Description Seitz - All the species which belong here are distinguished by their size and have a heavy, awkward flight, the weak muscles being evidently unable to control the enormous wings. Even a moderate breeze drives them helplessly hither and thither like pieces of light paper and probably on this account they never leave the shelter of the woods. The species of ''Hestia'' are among the largest butterflies, and ...

Danaus (butterfly)
''Danaus'', commonly called tigers, milkweeds, monarchs, wanderers, and queens, is a genus of butterflies in the tiger butterfly tribe. They are found worldwide, including North America, South America, Africa, Asia, Indonesia and Australia. For other tigers see the genus, '' Parantica''. Taxonomy Following the review of Smith et al. (2005), 12 species are provisionally accepted based on morphological, mtDNA 12S rRNA and cytochrome ''c'' oxidase subunit I, and nuclear DNA 18S rRNA and EF1 subunit α sequence data: This genus was formerly split into the subgenera ''Danaus'', ''Salatura'', and ''Anosia'', but this arrangement has been abolished. While the first (the 2–3 monarch butterflies) and ''Salatura'' (species ''ismare, genutia, affinis'', and ''melanippus'') do indeed seem to be clades, the relationship of these to the other species, especially the puzzling ''D. dorippus'', is not clear. Hybridization producing fertile offspring is known to occur between some specie ...
