Declan Danaher
Declan Danaher (born 11 January 1980) is a former rugby union footballer who played at back row for London Irish in the Aviva Premiership. He was a coach for London Irish until their administration in 2023. Club career Danaher joined London Irish in 1999, making his debut against Gloucester Rugby in May 2000. He started in the Powergen Cup, 2002 Powergen Cup Final at Twickenham Stadium, Twickenham, as London Irish defeated the Northampton Saints. Danaher was on the losing side in the Finals of the 2005-06 European Challenge Cup and 2008–09 Guinness Premiership. John Danaher (martial Artist)
John Danaher (born April 2, 1967) is a US-born New Zealand martial artist. He is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu and mixed martial arts (MMA) instructor and coach. Danaher is widely regarded as one of the best instructors and coaches in these sports. Danaher holds a 6th-degree black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu under Renzo Gracie, and he is a former instructor at the Renzo Gracie Academy in Manhattan. Danaher grew up in New Zealand and arrived in the United States in 1991 to study at Columbia University's philosophy Ph.D. program. After arriving in New York, Danaher was introduced to Brazilian jiu-jitsu by a friend at the university, and began taking classes at the Renzo Gracie Academy in Manhattan. John Danaher VC also known as John Danagher (25 June 1860 – 9 January 1919) was an Irish recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. Early life Born in Limerick, Ireland, Danaher moved to South Africa shortly after the completion of his schooling. Upon the outbreak of the First Boer War, Danaher joined the Nourse's Horse (Transvaal), South African Forces. Kevin Danaher ( Irish, ''Caoimhín Ó Danachair'') (30 January 1913 – 14 March 2002) was an Irish folklorist with a special interest in ethnography and military history. Danaher is the author of 10 books about Irish traditional customs and beliefs, the best known of which are ''The Year in Ireland'', ''In Ireland Long Ago'', and ''Folktales from the Irish Countryside''. Kevin Danaher (born July 11, 1950) is an American author and anti-globalization activist. With his wife Medea Benjamin and activist Kirsten Irgens-Moller, he co-founded Global Exchange, a social justice and anti-globalization non-governmental organization based in San Francisco, California. He is the founder and executive co-producer of the Green Festivals and he is executive Director of the Global Citizen Center. Philip C. Danaher (born November 23, 1948) is an American former high school football coach. He was the head football coach at Calallen High School in Corpus Christi, Texas, from 1984 to 2021, and is one of only three Texas coaches to reach 400 career wins. Danaher was born in Missouri but shortly afterwards his family moved to south Texas. He played high school football at Harlingen High School, graduated in 1967 and received a football scholarship from Angelo State University. Philip Danaher (born 5 October 1965) is a retired Irish rugby union Fullback and Centre. He played for St Munchin's College, Garryowen (as captain), Lansdowne, Munster and won 28 caps between 1988 and 1995 for Ireland. He made his international debut against Scotland on 16 January 1988 and captained the team 3 times, including the 1992 Ireland rugby union tour of New Zealand. . Phyllis May Danaher MBE FRAD (27 July 1908 – 31 May 1991) was an Australian dancer, teacher of dance and choreographer. Early life and education Danaher was born on 27 July 1908 in Bulimba, a suburb of Brisbane, Queensland, to William Patrick Danaher and Ivy May (née Bagnall). She began dancing in the early 1920s with Margaret St Ledger and then, after 1927, with Marjorie Hollinshed who took over St Ledger's school. She also went to Sydney to study at the Frances Scully School of Dance.
