The Territory of Dakota was an organized incorporated territory of the United States that existed from March 2, 1861, until November 2, 1889, when the final extent of the reduced territory was split and admitted to the Union as the states of North and South Dakota. Dakota North is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Martha Thomases and artist Tony Salmons, North was originally the star of her own short-lived 1986 series and later a part of the supporting casts of ''Cage'', '' Daredevil'' and '' Captain Marvel''. The character exists in Marvel's main shared universe, known as the Marvel Universe. Creation A freelance magazine writer, Thomases had never written for comics before, while Salmons had only completed a handful of fill-in assignments for Marvel. Dakota County is a county in the U.S. state of Nebraska. As of the 2020 United States census, the population was 21,582. Its county seat is Dakota City.
