Daejeon Hana Citizen FC () is a South Korean professional Association football, football team based in Daejeon, competing in K League 1, the top tier of South Korean football. At the time of its foundation in 1997, Daejeon was the first community-owned club in South Korea, not being owned by any company. The club first entered the K League in the 1997 K League, 1997 season, finishing in seventh place. In spite of a limited budget, Daejeon won the 2001 Korean FA Cup. It has not achieved sustained success in the K League, historically occupying the middle and lower reaches of the standings each season and spending long spells in the second-tier K League 2. On 24 December 2019, Hana Financial Group bought the club's operating rights and renamed the club to its current name. Daejeon World Cup Stadium
Daejeon World Cup Stadium is a football stadium in the South Korean city of Daejeon. It was used to host some matches at the 2002 FIFA World Cup hosted by South Korea and Japan. The stadium displayed a sophisticated structural dynamism, eliminating decorative decoration. Precast Concrete (PC) method considering construction and economical efficiency was used. After the World Cup, the stadium was planned to be a multi-purpose sports park, which has a comprehensive sports center and commercial and cultural facilities in the middle of the region. Kim Eun-jung (; born 8 April 1979) is a South Korean retired footballer who played as a striker. He is currently manager of K League 1 club Suwon FC. He previously headed Tubize after joining in 2015 as a youth scout. He played in the South Korea national team at 1998 Asian Games in Bangkok and 2004 AFC Asian Cup in China. Lee Tae-ho
Lee Tae-ho (; ; born January 29, 1961) is a South Korean former professional footballer who played as a forward. He spent his entire career playing for the Daewoo Royals. In the history of the FIFA World Cup, he was the first player to be blind in one eye. International career Before starting his professional career, he was the first South Korean to score at the FIFA World Youth Championship. His goal came against Canada at the 1979 tournament. Afterwards, he was called the "Korean Gerd Müller" for his scoring ability. He contributed to South Korea's gold medal at the 1986 Asian Games. During the K-League match against POSCO Atoms, his right eye was injured in 1987 after Nam Ki-young hit him in Lee's face with his foot, resulting in the latter losing his sight. However, his blindness was not enough to stop his performance. He became the top goalscorer in the 1988 AFC Asian Cup and participated at the 1990 FIFA World Cup. The 1998 K League was the 16th season of South Korean professional football league, and was the first season to have been named the "K League". This season is called the "Renaissance of K League" in South Korea.
