Alain Côté (born May 3, 1957) is a Canadians, Canadian former professional ice hockey player who played for the Quebec Nordiques in the National Hockey League (NHL) and the World Hockey Association (WHA). Playing career Côté was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the third round (43rd overall) of the 1977 NHL amateur draft and by the Quebec Nordiques in the fifth round (47th overall) of the 1977 WHA Amateur Draft. Côté played his entire career for the Quebec Nordiques from 1977–78 WHA season, 1977–78 to 1988–89 NHL season, 1988–89. Joseph Julien Jean-Pierre Côté (January 9, 1926 – July 10, 2002) was a Canadian parliamentarian and the 23rd Lieutenant Governor of Quebec. Early life Born in Montreal, Quebec, the son of Émile Côté and Cédia Roy, he studied to be a dental technician at the École technique de denturologie in Montreal. Member of Parliament In the 1963 federal elections, he was elected in the riding of Longueuil as the Liberal candidate. He was re-elected in 1965 and 1968. He held quite a few ministerial positions including Postmaster General, Minister of National Revenue, Minister without Portfolio, and Minister of Communications (Acting). Betty Cody (born Rita Francis Coté; August 17, 1921 – July 1, 2014) was a Canadian-born country music singer. Her notable singles include the 1952 RCA releases "Tom Tom Yodel" and " I Found Out More Than You Ever Knew", and "Please Throw Away The Glass" released by RCA in 1954. Riley D. Cote is a former Canadian professional ice hockey left winger and formerly an assistant coach with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League (AHL). He played four National Hockey League (NHL) seasons with the Philadelphia Flyers and was mainly known as an enforcer. He currently co-hosts the Nasty Knuckles podcast. Ray Cote (born May 31, 1961) is a former professional ice hockey forward. He spent his junior career with the Calgary Wranglers of the WHL and signed a free agent contract with the Edmonton Oilers in 1981 after going undrafted. He played in six seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL), and later played the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey in his native Quebec. Biography Côté was born in LaSalle, Quebec.
