Olek Czyż
Aleksander "Olek" Czyż is a Polish professional basketball player. He has also represented the Polish national team. Early years and college Czyż grew up playing basketball in Poland. He first started playing when he was 10 years old for a club team called Prokom Trefl Gdynia. At the age of 14, he moved with his mother and sister to the United States and attended Reno High School, in Reno, Nevada where he was a two-time state champion. He received scholarship offers to attend colleges around the country going into his senior year at Reno High School. Throughout his collegiate freshman, and half of his sophomore basketball season, Olek played for Duke University in North Carolina. He transferred to the University of Nevada, Reno, in Reno where he played during the 2010–11 and 2011–12 seasons. During his junior year, he was selected for the WAC All-Newcomer team. Szymon Czyż (born 8 July 2001) is a Polish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Ekstraklasa club Górnik Zabrze, on loan from Raków Częstochowa. Professional career A youth product of Arka Gdynia and Lech Poznań, Czyż signed with Lazio in 2018. Czyż made his professional debut with Lazio in a 1–1 UEFA Champions League draw against Club Brugge on 28 October 2020. He moved on a permanent transfer to Warta Poznań in the summer of 2021. On 10 January 2022, he was transferred to Raków Częstochowa, signing a three-and-a-half-year deal. Przemysław Czyż
Przemysław Czyż (born 11 October 1972, in Warsaw) is a Polish diplomat, an ambassador to Macedonia (2011–2013) and Representative to the Palestinian National Authority (since 2019). Life Czyż has graduated from University of Warsaw, Law Faculty. In 1996, he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, specializing in legal and legislative issues. In 2003, he became member of civil service. Between 2006 and 2009 he has been director of the MFA Director General's Office. Afterwards, he was the director of the Legal and Public Procurement Office. From 2011 to 2013 he has been Poland ambassador to Macedonia. Phil Chess
Philip Chess (born Fiszel Czyż; March 27, 1921 – October 18, 2016) was a Polish-born American record producer and company executive, the co-founder with his brother of Chess Records. Early life Chess was born to a Polish-Jewish family in the village of Motal, then in eastern Poland and now part of Belarus. He and his brother Lejzor, sister Malka and mother followed their father to Chicago in 1928. The family name was changed to Chess, with Lejzor becoming Leonard and Fiszel becoming Philip. Career Chess served in the army during World War II. In 1946, after leaving the Army, Phil joined Leonard in running a popular club, the Macomba Lounge. Two years later, Leonard became a partner in Aristocrat Records, a local company that recorded a wide range of music, and Phil joined in 1950. Robert Edward Czyz ( ; born February 10, 1962) is an American retired boxer and commentator. Czyz was a two-division world titlist at light heavyweight and cruiserweight. Czyz was born in Orange, New Jersey. He grew up in Wanaque, New Jersey and attended Lakeland Regional High School. He is three quarters Italian and one quarter Polish. His younger brother is avant-garde fiction writer Vincent Czyz.
