Severe Tropical Storm Cyprien (Joint Typhoon Warning Center, JTWC designation: ''08S'') was a short-lived tropical cyclone that caused minor damage in Madagascar. Forming on December 30, 2001, Cyprien quickly strengthened in a slightly favorable environment. By January 2, the storm attained its peak intensity with winds of 100 km/h (65 mph) according to Météo-France and 95 km/h (60 mph) according to the Joint Typhoon Warning Center. Later that day the storm made landfall in Morombe, at a weaker intensity, and dissipated early on January 3. Throughout the affected areas, Cyprien destroyed 957 structures, leaving 1.16 billion Malagasy franc (2002 MGF; US$181,000) in damages. Glynn Ray Cyprien (born September 13, 1966) is an American basketball coach who is currently an assistant coach at Texas Tech. He was formerly an assistant under Billy Kennedy at Texas A&M University in College Station. He previously assisted Josh Pastner at the University of Memphis, Billy Gillispie at the University of Kentucky, and prior to that was an assistant coach at the University of Arkansas, New Mexico State, Oklahoma State, UNLV, Western Kentucky, and Jacksonville University. Johnathan Ken Cyprien (born July 29, 1990) is an American former professional American football, football player who was a Safety (gridiron football position), safety in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the FIU Panthers football, FIU Panthers and was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the second round of the 2013 NFL draft. Cyprien also played for the Tennessee Titans, Philadelphia Eagles, Atlanta Falcons, and San Francisco 49ers. Early life Born in Les Abymes, Guadeloupe, France on 28 January 1995, Cyprien moved to metropolitan France at a young age.
