Cultural Center Station
Cultural Center station is a Baltimore Light RailLink station located along Howard Street in the Mount Vernon, Baltimore, Mount Vernon neighborhood of Baltimore, Maryland, adjacent to the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. It has two side platforms served by two tracks. The station opened on April 2, 1992, as part of the first phase of the system. While there is no direct connection between the Light Rail and the Baltimore Metro SubwayLink system, the Cultural Center Light Rail station is located near the State Center station on the Metro. A side platform (also known as a marginal platform or a single-face platform) is a platform positioned to the side of one or more railway tracks or guideways at a railway station, tram stop, or transitway. A station having dual side platforms, one for each direction of travel, is the basic design used for double-track railway lines (as opposed to, for instance, the island platform where a single platform lies between the tracks). Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall
The Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, often referred to simply as the Meyerhoff, is a music venue that opened September 16, 1982, at 1212 Cathedral Street in the Mount Vernon neighborhood of Baltimore, Maryland, United States. The main auditorium has a seating capacity of 2,443 and is home to the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. It is named for Joseph Meyerhoff, a Ukrainian-Jewish Baltimore businessman, philanthropist, and arts patron who served as president of the Baltimore Symphony from 1965 to 1983. Architecture The modern style structure was designed by the architectural firms of Pietro Belluschi, Inc. and Jung/Brannen Associates. Ground was broken November 10, 1978. Mount Vernon is a neighborhood of Baltimore, Maryland, located immediately north of the city's downtown. Baltimore Bike Share (also referred to as Bmore Bikeshare) was a bicycle sharing system that served the city of Baltimore, Maryland. The system had more than 50 stations, all owned by the Baltimore City government, and operated in a public–private partnership with Bewegen Technologies and Corps Logistics. Launched in 2016, Baltimore Bike Share had the largest electrical-assisted cycling (Pedelec) fleet in North America. On August 15, 2018, the Baltimore Bike Share system was cancelled at a cost of $3.2 million and shut down immediately due to on-going problems with the system.
