FIS Alpine World Ski Championships
The FIS Alpine World Ski Championships is an alpine skiing competition organized by the International Ski Federation (FIS). History The inaugural world championships in alpine skiing were held in 1931. It consisted of Downhill (ski competition), downhill and Slalom skiing, slalom events for men and women. Next year the Alpine skiing combined, combined event was added to the program as a "paper" race which used the results of the downhill and slalom. During the 1930s, the event was held annually in Europe, until interrupted by the outbreak of World War II, preventing a 1940 event. An event was held in 1941, but included competitors only from nations from the Axis powers or nations not at war with them. The results were later cancelled by the FIS in 1946 because of the limited number of participants, so they are not considered official. Leona Popović (; born 13 November 1997) is a Croatian alpine ski racer. Previously, she competed in all winter disciplines, but now specialises in slalom. Her best World Cup finish is 2nd place in slalom. Popović's first major competition was the 2015 World Championships in Beaver Creek, USA, where she competed in all disciplines at age seventeen; her best result was 27th in slalom. By her 22nd birthday, she had incurred three surgeries on her left leg. Ana Jelušić Black (born 28 December 1986) is a former World Cup alpine ski racer from Croatia. Born in Rijeka, at the time SR Croatia, SFR Yugoslavia, Jelušić specialized in slalom and competed in the 2002 Winter Olympics at age 15, the youngest competitor at those games. On 4 January 2007, she was the runner-up in the World Cup slalom race (Snow Queen Trophy) at Sljeme mountain in Croatia, won by Marlies Schild of Austria. A month later at the 2007 World Championships in Sweden, Jelušić finished fourth in the women's slalom. She has stated that she admires and looks up to fellow countrywoman Janica Kostelić for inspiration, and hopes to follow in her footsteps. Natko Zrnčić-Dim (;), born 7 March 1986, is a Croatian alpine ski coach and retired World Cup skier. He won a bronze medal in super combined at the World Championships in 2009 at Val-d'Isère, France, and is a member of SK Medveščak. Born in Zagreb, SR Croatia, SFR Yugoslavia, Zrnčić-Dim's best World Cup result is second place in a super combined, achieved on 30 January 2011 in Chamonix, France. 2024–25 FIS Alpine Ski World Cup
The 2024–25 FIS Alpine Ski World Cup, organised by the International Ski Federation (FIS), was the 59th World Cup season for men and women as the highest level of international alpine skiing competitions. The season started on 26 October 2024 in Sölden, Austria, and concluded on 27 March 2025 at the finals in Sun Valley, United States. The season took a break in February for the World Championships in Saalbach, Austria. Marco Odermatt and Lara Gut-Behrami, both from Switzerland, were the reigning champions from the previous season. Odermatt successfully defended his title, claiming the crystal globe for the 4th consecutive time. 2024 Alpine Skiing World Cup

It is a square number, the smallest semiprime and composite number, and is considered unlucky in many East Asian cultures.
