Crisis (metal Band)
Crisis was an American Heavy metal music, heavy metal band, formed in New York City in 1993 by vocalist Karyn Crisis, guitarist Afzaal Nasiruddeen, bassist Gia Chuan Wang and drummer Fred Waring III. Karyn, Nasiruddeen and Wang were the only members to appear on all of its albums, with the band cycling through various drummers following Waring's departure in 1996; its final lineup featured second guitarist Jwyanza Hobson, who joined in 1998, and drummer Justin Arman, who joined in 2005. Largely defying categorization, the band were known for their complex songwriting that drew upon various influences and styles. In 1993, Crisis released its debut album ''8 Convulsions'', which sold more than 1,000 copies on cassette prior to being reissued by Too Damn Hype Records in 1994. CBGB was a New York City music club opened in 1973 by Hilly Kristal in the East Village, Manhattan, East Village in Manhattan, New York City. The club was previously a biker bar and before that was a dive bar. The letters ''CBGB'' were for ''Country music, Country, Bluegrass music, Bluegrass, Blues'', Kristal's original vision for the club. Roy Mayorga
Roy Mayorga (born April 6, 1970) is an American musician, best known as the drummer of heavy metal bands Soulfly, Hellyeah and Stone Sour and is currently the drummer for the industrial metal band Ministry. Early life Mayorga was born in Forest Hills, Queens, New York City, on April 6, 1970, to Cuban and Ecuadorian parents. At four years old, his family moved to Florida. While growing up, his parents would often play Motown music and rhythm and blues, which were his earliest exposures to music. He eventually became a fan of Kiss through his older brother, which led him to become interested in rock music. He began playing drums at six years old. His parents soon divorced, leading to him moving to Allentown, Pennsylvania, where he became involved in the local punk rock scene. Voivod is a Canadian Heavy metal music, heavy metal band from Jonquière (now part of Saguenay, Quebec, Saguenay) Quebec. ''AMP Magazine'' (short for ''American Music Press Magazine'') was an American music magazine founded in 2002, by Brett Matthews, Lisa Root and John Joh. It featured interviews, album and live reviews and band journals. Online, it featured exclusive videos and audio, as well as video game reviews. It closed its doors on February 26, 2013, with its 112th issue having been published in November 2012. Root went on to form '' New Noise Magazine''.
