''Crime Buster'' is a 1968 UK crime drama television series made by Associated Television. The series starred Mark Eden as Ray Saxon, a newspaper columnist with the ''Sunday Globe'' and a former champion cyclist, who investigates and exposes sports racketeers. Other regulars on the series included Ray Mort as Jimmy Vine and Sonia Graham Sonia Graham (born Sonia Mary Biddlecombe; 22 August 1929 – 18 February 2018) was an English actress whose career spanned over 40 years. Crime Drama
Crime films, in the broadest sense, is a film genre inspired by and analogous to the crime fiction literary genre. Films of this genre generally involve various aspects of crime and its detection. Stylistically, the genre may overlap and combine with many other genres, such as Drama (film and television), drama or gangster film, but also include Comedy film, comedy, and, in turn, is divided into many sub-genres, such as Mystery film, mystery, suspense or Film noir, noir. Associated Television
Associated Television was the original name of the British broadcaster ATV, part of the Independent Television (ITV) network. It provided a service to London at weekends from 1955 to 1968, to the Midlands on weekdays from 1956 to 1968, and to the Midlands all week from 1968 to 1982. It was one of the "Big Four" until 1968, and the "Big Five" after 1968, that between them produced the majority of ITV networked programmes. In 1982, ATV was restructured and rebranded as Central Independent Television, under which name it continued to provide the service for the Midlands. ''The Stage'' is a British weekly newspaper and website covering the entertainment industry and particularly theatre. It was founded in 1880. It contains news, reviews, opinion, features, and recruitment advertising, mainly directed at those who work in theatre and the performing arts. He was best known for his portrayal of villainous Alan Bradley in ''Coronation Street'' from 1986 to 1989. Sonia Graham (born Sonia Mary Biddlecombe; 22 August 1929 – 18 February 2018) was an English actress whose career spanned over 40 years. She appeared in several British television series. She trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, having previously worked as a dancer, making her professional debut aged 13 with the Carl Rosa Opera Company. After early acting experience in repertory theatre, Graham played Mary Ellen in ''Meet Me by Moonlight'' in the West End, and an excerpt from this on the BBC's ''Theatre Night'' became her TV debut, in 1957. Her big break, however, came three years later when she played Mary Bewick in the television series ''A House Called Bell Tower''. John Rickman (28 May 1913 – 13 October 1997) was a British journalist, broadcaster and author. The majority of his career was as a print journalist initially for the Bristol Evening News and then later with the ''Daily Mail'' and ''The Daily Sketch.'' He was a racing tipster, often featuring to the top of the unofficial Sporting Life naps table, a competition held between journalists to select winners. A broadcaster with London Weekend Television's '' World of Sport'' for 23 years, he was the first person to introduce the sport of horse racing on an independent television channel in the UK and is considered one of the pioneer television broadcasters of that sport.
