Creative Artists Agency, LLC (CAA) is an American talent and sports agency based in Los Angeles, California. With 1,800 employees in March 2016, it is regarded as an influential company in the talent agency business and manages numerous clients. In September 2023, French billionaire François-Henri Pinault completed the acquisition of a majority stake in CAA, in an agreement valued at 7 billion dollars. The purchase was made through his investment company, Groupe Artémis. History Creative Artists Agency (CAA) was formed by five agents at the William Morris Agency in 1975. At a dinner, Michael Ovitz, Michael S. Rosenfeld, Ronald Meyer, Rowland Perkins, and William Haber decided to create their own agency. Rowland Perkins (July 10, 1934 – August 8, 2018) was an American talent agent. He was a co-founder and the founding president of the Creative Artists Agency (CAA). Early life Rowland Perkins was born on July 10, 1934, in Los Angeles, California. He graduated from Beverly Hills High School. He served in the United States Navy for two years and attended the University of California in Los Angeles, where he earned a bachelor's degree in business administration. Career Perkins began his career at the William Morris Agency (WMA). Perkins co-founded Creative Artists Agency with Michael Ovitz, Ronald Meyer, William Haber and Michael S. Rosenfeld in 1975. James David "Jay" Moloney (November 14, 1964 – November 16, 1999) was an American Hollywood talent agent. Moloney was a top Creative Artists Agency (CAA) agent and a protégé of CAA founder Michael Ovitz. He died by suicide at age 35. ''Rhyme and Reason'' is an American television game show that aired on ABC from July 7, 1975 through July 9, 1976. Bob Eubanks hosted the show, with Johnny Jacobs serving as announcer. William T. Naud created the series. Game play The show consisted of two contestants and a panel of six celebrities. The object of the game was to get the celebrity to say a word the contestant had written down.
