Craig House, Edinburgh
Craig House is a historic house and estate located on Easter Craiglockhart Hill, between the Craiglockhart and Morningside, Edinburgh, Morningside areas of Edinburgh, Scotland. Old Craig House dates back to the 16th century, and it succeeded an earlier building. In the late 19th century it was purchased by the Royal Edinburgh Hospital, and the site was developed as Craig House Hospital, a psychiatric hospital, which included substantial new buildings. Following refurbishment, the site was opened in 1996 as the Craighouse Campus of Edinburgh Napier University. History Craig House is recorded in the reign of David II of Scotland, King David II, and in 1528 the Abbot of Newbattle granted a charter here. The original house was burned down by the Edward Seymour, 1st Duke of Somerset, Earl of Hertford in 1544, during the Rough Wooing. Keri Craig-Lee (born 4 March 1958) is an Australian, multi-award-winning fashion designer and retailer. She was the first inductee into the National Retail Association (formerly the Retailers Association of Queensland – RAQ) Hall of Fame in 1987 at age 28, and remains a member of the Federal Executive Committee of Fashion Industries of Australia. Craig Michael House (born July 8, 1977) is a former Major League Baseball pitcher who played for the Colorado Rockies in 2000. A native of Okinawa, Japan, House attended the University of Memphis. In 1998, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Baseball League. House was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 12th round of the 1999 Major League Baseball draft. He made his debut on August 8, , with the Rockies. House pitched in 16 games for Colorado in 2000, his only major league season, posting one win, with one loss, and a 7.24 ERA. The Heard-Craig House is a historic house museum in McKinney, Texas, U.S.. It was built for Stephen and Lillian Heard in 1900. The house has 7,000 square feet and four floors. In 1970, Kathryn Heard-Craig gifted the house museum to multiple arts organizations as a place to convene and educate. In addition to an education hub, the center is also a Regional Art Museum boasting a large collection of Texas Regional Art. This is a list of properties and historic districts in Tennessee that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. There are over 2,000 in total. Of these, 29 are National Historic Landmarks. Each of Tennessee's 95 counties has at least one listing. The Tennessee Historical Commission, which manages the state's participation in the National Register program, reports that 80 percent of the state's area has been surveyed for historic buildings. Surveys for archaeological sites have been less extensive; coverage is estimated less than 5 percent of the state. Craig House (Lancaster, South Carolina)
Craig House is a historic home located near Lancaster, Lancaster County, South Carolina. The House was originally owned by John Craig, Esquire, whose family originated in southwestern Scotland, immigrated to South Carolina from Northern Ireland in 1772. After receiving a land grant in Lancaster County from King George III, Craig bought additional land in the Waxhaws in 1773. John Craig, Esquire and several of his sons fought in the Revolutionary War battles that occurred in the vicinity. The current Craig House dates from the early 1830s, and was originally a federal-style farmhouse. In 1901, it was significantly enlarged with a Victorian front addition by John Edgar and Amanda Drennan Craig, who were married in 1883 at Kilburnie, then the residence of the Drennans. John E. Craig Jr. inherited Craig house after the death of both parents in 1989.
