Cove Section Of Stamford
The Cove is a neighborhood located in the southeast corner of Stamford, Connecticut. It is an area of mostly modest homes with some very expensive homes along the shoreline. History The Cove area was one of the first sections of Stamford to be cleared and divided among settlers. Noroton Heights Station
Noroton Heights station is a commuter rail station on the Metro-North Railroad New Haven Line located in the Noroton Heights neighborhood of Darien, Connecticut. Station layout The station has two high-level side platforms that serve the outer tracks of the four-track Northeast Corridor. The northern (westbound) platform is 10 cars long, while the southern platform is 9 cars long. The Noroton Heights station building is "unique in that it resembles an overgrown Plexiglass icshelter protected by a metal lean-to," according to a January 2007 Connecticut Department of Transportation report. Stamford station, officially known as the Stewart B. McKinney Transportation Center or the Stamford Transportation Center, is a major railroad station in the city of Stamford, Connecticut, serving passengers traveling on Metro-North Railroad's New Haven Line, and Amtrak's Northeast Corridor. In addition, it is also a major bus terminal for Peter Pan, and CTtransit buses. Shippan is a neighborhood the city of Stamford, Connecticut, located along the Long Island Sound. History Prior to the late 19th century, the area of present-day Shippan was largely agricultural. Starting around that time, Shippan Point (a section of Shippan) became a popular summer retreat for affluent New York City residents.
