Cortina Indian Rancheria
The Kletsel Dehe Wintun Nation of the Cortina Rancheria is a federally recognized tribe of Indigenous people of California. They are Wintun people, who historically spoke Wintuan languages. They're headquartered in Williams, California, and they have approximately 270 enrolled citizens. They were previously known as the Kletsel Dehe Band of Wintun Indians, Cortina Indian Rancheria, and Cortina Indian Rancheria of Wintun Indians of California. Government Charlie Wright serves as their chairperson. Rancheria The Cortina Rancheria is an Indian reservation in Colusa County, California, at an elevation of 1,312 feet (400 m). The rancheria is 640 acres large in area. It is located about 70 miles northwest of Sacramento and 15 miles west of Arbuckle, California. As of the 2010 Census the population was 21. Colusa County, California
Colusa County () is a county located in the U.S. state of California. As of the 2020 census, the population was 21,839. The county seat is Colusa. It is in the northern Sacramento Valley, northwest of the state capital, Sacramento. History Colusa County is one of the original counties of California, created in 1850 at the time of statehood. Parts of the county's territory were given to Tehama County in 1856 and to Glenn County in 1891. The county was named after the 1844 Rancho Colus Mexican land grant to John Bidwell. The name of the county in the original state legislative act of 1850 was spelled ''Colusi'', and often in newspapers was spelled ''Coluse''. California State University, Chico (Chico State) is a public university in Chico, California. It was founded in 1887 as one of about 180 "normal schools" founded by state governments in the 19th century to train teachers for the rapidly growing public common schools. Arbuckle is a census-designated place (CDP) in Colusa County, California, United States. The population was 3,484 at the 2020 census. Arbuckle is situated in the southerly portion of Colusa County, approximately southwest of the City of Colusa, the county seat. The town is characterized by single-family residences, multiple-family units, some mobile homes, and commercial activities. Land surrounding Arbuckle is agriculture including cultivated annual crops, and both active and unmaintained orchards (primarily almond). Various almond hullers may be found near the area.
