Coronado School Of The Arts
Coronado School of the Arts (CoSA) is a school-within-a-school in Coronado, California. It is located on the campus of Coronado High School. The school currently enrolls 155 students, of which nearly 70% comes from outside Coronado. CoSA is largely an after-hours program with a focus on the arts, in which students take academic courses at Coronado High School in the morning. The school offers classes in classical and contemporary dance, musical theater and drama, instrumental music, technical theater, visual art, and digital media and filmmaking. It has Ph.D.s on its faculty and what ''The San Diego Union-Tribune'' calls "a formidable fund-raising auxiliary", the CoSA Foundation. History The idea for the school materialized in 1993. Coronado Unified School District
Coronado Unified School District (CUSD) is a public school district based in Coronado in San Diego County, California. It includes one high school, one middle school, and two elementary schools as well as several specialized and unconventional schools. It is governed by a five-member elected board. CUSD includes Coronado High School, Coronado Middle School, Silver Strand Elementary, and Village Elementary. Coronado School of the Arts, a nationally recognized public school-within-a-school (conservatory), resides on the high school campus. KNSD (channel 39, cable channel 7), branded on air as NBC 7 San Diego, is a television station in San Diego, California, United States, serving as the market's NBC outlet. New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, or NOCCA, is the regional, pre-professional arts training center for high school students in Louisiana. NOCCA opened in 1973 as a professional arts training center for secondary education, secondary school-age children.
