Patrick Cordier (born February 1, 1961) is a mineralogist who uses experimental and numerical approaches to study the plasticity of geological materials. He has authored or co-authored over 200 articles in international scientific journals. He received the Dana Medal from the Mineralogical Society of America in 2016, and is currently a chief editor of the ''European Journal of Mineralogy''. and a member of''Institut Universitaire de France''. Education Cordier obtained a master's degree in materials science in 1985 from the School of Engineers of Lille (EUDIL), and a DEA from the University of Lille 1 in materials science. Pierre Cordier (January 28, 1933 – March 21, 2024) was a Belgian artist. He is considered a pioneer of the chemigram and of its development as a means of artistic expression. Childhood and education When he was young he became interested in jazz. The improvisational freedom of this music is reflected in his works. The chemigram In 1952 he made an important acquaintance: Georges Brassens, the poet and singer, who was unknown at the time. He recorded and photographed him. Brassens left a deep influence on Cordier and encouraged him to continue exploring the "unfrequented steep road" that he had chosen. After studying political science at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Cordier completed his military service in Germany in 1956. It was there that a new pathway opened up for him: the chemigram. She participated for France in the 1967 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna with the song "Il doit faire beau là-bas", finishing in third place of 17 entries (behind the runaway winner Sandie Shaw for the United Kingdom, and Ireland's Sean Dunphy). Nicolas Cordier (1567–1612) was a sculptor from Lorraine working in Rome where he was also known as Niccolò da Lorena or "il Franciosino" (the little Frenchman). Cordier was born in Saint-Mihiel. Corderius ( Latinized form of the name Mathurin Cordier; 1479 or 1480 – 8 September 1564) was a French-born theologian, teacher, humanist, and pedagogian active in Geneva, Republic of Geneva.
