Conveyor (sternwheeler)
The ''Conveyor'' was one of five sternwheelers built for the use on the Skeena River by Foley, Welch and Stewart for construction work on the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway. The other four were the ''Operator'', the '' Skeena'', the ''Distributor'' and the '' Omineca''. Three of these, the ''Conveyor'', the ''Operator'' and the ''Distributor'' were built at Victoria, British Columbia in 1908 by Alexander Watson Jr. Skeena River The ''Conveyor'' began her work on the Skeena River in 1909 under the command of Captain Jack Shannon. She and the other four Foley, Welch and Stewart sternwheelers had their work cut out for them. The construction of the railway from Prince Rupert to Hazelton was one of the most difficult sections of track that would ever be laid in North America. Conveyor is an American art rock band from Brooklyn, New York. The band consists of T.J. Masters (vocals, guitar), Alan Busch (vocals, guitar), Evan Garfield (backing vocals, drums), and Michael Pedron (backing vocals, bass). They have released two full-length albums as well as a number of self-released singles and EPs. History The band was formed in early 2011 when its members, who met as musicians in Gainesville, Florida, moved to Brooklyn, New York. They began self-releasing records and performing around New York City in the spring of 2011. Conveyor released their eponymous debut full-length record on Paper Garden Records in 2012. Lineshaft Roller Conveyor
A lineshaft roller conveyor or line-shaft conveyor is, as its name suggests, powered by a shaft beneath rollers. These conveyors are suitable for light applications up to 50 kg such as cardboard boxes and tote boxes. A single shaft runs below the rollers running the length of the conveyor. On the shaft are a series of spools, one spool for each roller. An elastic polyurethane o-ring belt runs from a spool on the powered shaft to each roller. When the shaft is powered, the o-ring belt acts as a chain between the spool and the roller making the roller rotate. The rotation of the rollers pushes the product along the conveyor.
