''Conraua'', known as slippery frogs or giant frogs is a genus of large frogs from sub-Saharan Africa. ''Conraua'' is the only genus in the family Conrauidae. Alternatively, it may be placed in the family Petropedetidae. This genus includes the largest frog of the world, ''Conraua goliath'', which may grow to in snout–vent length and weigh as much as . Four of the seven species in this genus are threatened. Conraua Goliath
The goliath frog (''Conraua goliath''), otherwise known commonly as the giant slippery frog and the goliath bullfrog, is a species of frog in the family Conrauidae. The goliath frog is the largest living frog. Specimens can reach up to about in snout–vent length and in weight. This species has a relatively small habitat range in Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea. Its numbers are dwindling due to habitat destruction, collection for food, and the pet trade. Description The male and female are very similar. In a sample of 15 individuals, weights ranged between , and snout–vent lengths were between . In total length, including outstretched legs, the largest specimens can slightly exceed . Conraua Crassipes
''Conraua crassipes'' is a species of frog in the family Conrauidae. It is found in eastern Nigeria, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea (including the island of Bioko), Gabon, the Republic of the Congo, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Presumably it also occurs in the southwestern Central African Republic and in the Cabinda Enclave of Angola. Common name Abo slippery frog has been coined for it. ''Conraua crassipes'' is a common species living in or near fast-flowing, clear-water rivers and streams in low altitude rainforest, possibly to elevations up to about above sea level. It tolerates some habitat degradation, provided that trees remain and the habitat does not become too open. It is adversely affected by the loss of its forest habitat for agriculture, logging and human settlements, and sedimentation of its breeding streams. It occurs in several protected areas. He is the lead guitarist of the metalcore bands Killswitch Engage, Aftershock (band), Aftershock and Times of Grace (band), Times of Grace, as well as the guitarist and co-lead vocalist for the melodic death metal supergroup Serpentine Dominion.
