Connecticut's 26th Senate District
Connecticut's 26th State Senate district elects one member of the Connecticut State Senate. The district consists of the entirety of Westport, Wilton, Ridgefield, and Redding, and parts of Bethel, New Canaan and Weston. Previously, the 26th district comprised Norwalk, Wilton, New Canaan, and Easton. However, in the late 1970s Norwalk and Darien became the 25th district. Ceci Maher
Catherine Cecilia Maher (née Queeney; born November 19, 1953) is an American executive and politician. She currently serves as a member of the Connecticut State Senate, representing District 26, which encompasses Darien, New Canaan, Redding, Ridgefield, Stamford, Weston, Westport and Wilton. She is a member of the Democratic Party. Early life and education Maher was born Catherine Cecilia Queeney to John Hart Queeney and Rosalie (née Kirby) Queeney. She was one of six children and was raised primarily in Stamford, Connecticut, where she attended the local schools. She completed a Bachelor of Science in fashion merchandising at University of Massachusetts Amherst. In 1995, Maher completed a Master of Social Work at Columbia University in New York. 2020 Connecticut Senate Election
The 2020 Connecticut State Senate election took place on November 3, 2020. Part of the biennial 2020 United States elections. Connecticut voters elected senators in all of the 36 State Senate districts. State senators serve two-year terms in the Connecticut State Senate, with all 36 of the seats up for election each cycle. The primary elections on August 11, 2020, determined which candidates appeared on the ballot for the general election. Will Haskell
William Haskell (born June 28, 1996) is an American politician and a former member of the Connecticut State Senate, representing District 26 from 2019 to 2023. The district includes the towns of Redding, Ridgefield, Wilton, and parts of Bethel, Weston, Westport, and New Canaan. Haskell is a member of the Democratic Party, and was a member of the State Senate Democratic Caucus. When Haskell originally won election to the 26th District, he became the first Democrat to represent the district in over 50 years. Education Haskell attended school in the Westport Public School System and graduated from Staples High School in 2014, where he was an active member of Staples Players, the student theater group. Antonietta "Toni" Boucher (née Iannuzzi; born December 4, 1949) is an American politician and former member of the Connecticut State Senate representing the 26th District and previously served in the Connecticut House of Representatives representing the 143rd District. In November 2023, Boucher was elected as First Selectwoman of Wilton, Connecticut, succeeding First Selectwoman Lynn Vanderslice.
