Toby Gard (born 8 June 1972) is an English video game designer and consultant. He is the co-creator of Lara Croft, the fictional protagonist of the video game franchise ''Tomb Raider'' (1996–present). Lara Croft was awarded a ''Guinness World Records, Guinness World Record'' recognizing her as the "most successful human video game heroine". E3 (short for Electronic Entertainment Expo) was an annual Trade fair, trade event for the video game industry organized and presented by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA). It was held principally in Los Angeles from 1995 to 2019, with its final iteration held virtually in 2021. The event hosted video game developer, developers, video game publisher, publishers, hardware manufacturers, and other industry professionals who used the occasion to introduce and advertise upcoming games, hardware, and merchandise to the press. In software engineering, porting is the process of adapting software for the purpose of achieving some form of execution in a computing environment that is different from the one that a given program (meant for such execution) was originally designed for (e.g., different CPU, operating system, or third party library). Crystal Dynamics, Inc. is an American video game developer based in San Mateo, California. The studio is best known for its games in the ''Tomb Raider'', '' Legacy of Kain'', and '' Gex'' series. Madeline Canepa, Judy Lange, and Dave Morse founded Crystal Dynamics as a spin-off from The 3DO Company in July 1992. ''Galleon'' is a 2004 action-adventure game developed by Confounding Factor and published by SCi Games and Atlus USA for the Xbox.
