Communist Party Of Sardinia
The Communist Party of Sardinia ( it, Partito Comunista di Sardegna; sc, Partidu Comunista de Sardigna; abbreviated PCS) was a communist and separatist political party active in Sardinia. History The PCS was founded in 1943 by Giovanni Antioco Mura, a socialist and independentist activist whose political and civil engagement was well known amongst the locals (he also founded some farmer and shepherd cooperatives), and Antonio Cassitta, a former militant of the Italian Communist Party near to Bordiga's faction. The PCS was active mainly in the province of Sassari, but its presence was also pretty strong in the other parts of the island. This small Mediterranean communist party had an original and ambitious program. Adhering to the Marxist-Leninist principles and adopting those of the Soviet Constitution (which was also transcribed in the party's political manifesto), the PCS advocated the establishment of an independent ''Socialist Republic of Sardinia'', set in a wider Soviet F ... Logudoro
The Logudoro (meaning "Golden Place") is a large traditional region Sardinia, Italy. The name of Logudoro today is linked to the Logudorese dialect, which covers a large area of northern-central Sardinia. The first denomination of the area is contained in an 1064 document on behalf of Barisone, who requested a foundation of a monastery in his Kingdom of Ore (''in renno, quo dicitur ore''). The current name is thought to have originated from corrupt blending of the kingdom's alternative name Logu de Torres. In the Middle Ages it was the centre of Judicate of Logudoro, one of the four quasi-kingdoms in which Sardinia was divided. The first capital of the area was Ardara, later replaced by Sassari. From this period there are numerous countryside Romanesque basilicas. After the conquest of the giudicato by the House of Aragon, Logoduro declined, until the decision to move the seat of the governor to Cagliari made it marginal. Later, under the Savoy rule as part of the Kingdo ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Sardinian Action Party
The Sardinian Action Party ( sc, Partidu Sardu, it, Partito Sardo d'Azione, PSd'Az or PSdA) is a Sardinian nationalist, regionalist and separatist political party in Sardinia. While being traditionally part of the Sardinian centre-left, the party has also sided with the centre-right coalition and, more recently, with the League. The PSd'Az is one of the oldest stateless nationalist parties active in Europe that promotes autonomy towards the ideal of independence. As such, the party was a founding member of the European Free Alliance in 1984, but was expelled in 2020 because of its alliance with the League. Christian Solinas, who has led the party since 2015, was elected senator in the 2018 general election and President of Sardinia in the 2019 regional election, the first Sardist to do so since Mario Melis in 1984–1989. History The party was founded in April 1921, but soon banned under fascism, and was re-organized after World War II by Emilio Lussu, secretary for Southe ... Regions Of Italy
The regions of Italy ( it, regioni d'Italia) are the first-level administrative divisions of the Italian Republic, constituting its second NUTS administrative level. There are twenty regions, five of which have higher autonomy than the rest. Under the Italian Constitution, each region is an autonomous entity with defined powers. With the exception of the Aosta Valley (since 1945) and Friuli-Venezia Giulia (since 2018), each region is divided into a number of provinces (''province''). History During the Kingdom of Italy, regions were mere statistical districts of the central state. Under the Republic, they were granted a measure of political autonomy by the 1948 Italian Constitution. The original draft list comprised the Salento region (which was eventually included in Apulia); ''Friuli'' and ''Venezia Giulia'' were separate regions, and Basilicata was named ''Lucania''. Abruzzo and Molise were identified as separate regions in the first draft, but were later merged into ''Abr ... Mediterranean
The Mediterranean Sea is a sea connected to the Atlantic Ocean, surrounded by the Mediterranean Basin and almost completely enclosed by land: on the north by Western and Southern Europe and Anatolia, on the south by North Africa, and on the east by the Levant. The Sea has played a central role in the history of Western civilization. Geological evidence indicates that around 5.9 million years ago, the Mediterranean was cut off from the Atlantic and was partly or completely desiccated over a period of some 600,000 years during the Messinian salinity crisis before being refilled by the Zanclean flood about 5.3 million years ago. The Mediterranean Sea covers an area of about , representing 0.7% of the global ocean surface, but its connection to the Atlantic via the Strait of Gibraltar—the narrow strait that connects the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea and separates the Iberian Peninsula in Europe from Morocco in Africa—is only wide. Communism
Communism (from Latin la, communis, lit=common, universal, label=none) is a far-left sociopolitical, philosophical, and economic ideology and current within the socialist movement whose goal is the establishment of a communist society, a socioeconomic order centered around common ownership of the means of production, distribution, and exchange which allocates products to everyone in the society.: "One widespread distinction was that socialism socialised production only while communism socialised production and consumption." Communist society also involves the absence of private property, social classes, money, and the state. Communists often seek a voluntary state of self-governance, but disagree on the means to this end. This reflects a distinction between a more libertarian approach of communization, revolutionary spontaneity, and workers' self-management, and a more vanguardist or communist party-driven approach through the development of a constitutional s ...
