Aube () is a commune in the Orne department in the Normandy region in northwestern France. Population The inhabitants are known as ''Albins'' in French. Athis-Val de Rouvre () is a commune in the department of Orne, northwestern France, the municipality was established on 1 January 2016 by merger of the former communes of Athis-de-l'Orne (the seat), Bréel, La Carneille, Notre-Dame-du-Rocher, Ronfeugerai, Ségrie-Fontaine, Taillebois and Les Tourailles. Geography The commune is part of the area known as Suisse Normande. The commune is made up of the following collection of villages and hamlets: Le Rocher Nantreuil, La Tarillée, La Motte, Ronfeugerai, La Fosse, La Mancelière, L'Être Hardy, La Pigeonnière, La Carneille, Taillebois, Le Hamel, Les Onfrairies, Les Tourailles, Notre-Dame-du-Rocher, Ségrie-Fontaine, Oëtre, Le Douit de Bréel, Bréel, Le Val Fermé and Athis. Appenai-sous-Bellême (, ''Appenai under Bellême'') is a commune in the Orne department in northwestern France. Geography Appenai-sous-Bellême along with the communes of Vaunoise, Saint-Martin-du-Vieux-Bellême, Igé and Belforêt-en-Perche is part of the Bois et coteaux calcaires sous Belleme a Natura 2000 conservation site. The site measures 105 hectares and is home to the European stag beetle and European ash. Almenêches () is a commune in the Orne department in north-western France. Geography The commune of is made up of the following villages and hamlets, Saint-Hippolyte, Almenêches, Fligny, La Gare, Le Mesnil, Les Champs Bouchers, Le Friche, Surônes and Les Essarts. The Commune is one of 27 communes that make up the Natura 2000 protected area of Bocages et vergers du sud Pays d'Auge. Almenêches along with another 65 communes is also part of a 20,593 hectare, Natura 2000 conservation area, the Haute vallée de l'Orne et affluents. Alençon
Alençon (, , ; ) is a commune in Normandy, France, and the capital of the Orne department. It is situated between Paris and Rennes (about west of Paris) and a little over north of Le Mans. Alençon belongs to the intercommunality of Alençon (around 56,000 people in 2018, of which around 26.000 lived in Alençon). History The name of Alençon is first recorded in a document dated in the seventh century. During the tenth century, Alençon was a buffer state between Normandy and the Maine regions.
