Royal Brunei Armed Forces
The Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF); ms, Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei, (ABDB), is the collective term for the military forces of the sultanate of Brunei Darussalam. They consist of the Royal Brunei Land Forces (RBLF), the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), and the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF). The Ministry of Defence (abbreviated as MinDef; ms, Kementerian Pertahanan) is a cabinet-level ministry in the Government of Brunei responsible for the country's national security and military forces, the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF). It is Brunei's ministry of defence. It was established immediately upon Brunei's independence on 1 January 1984. The current leadership consists of a minister, whereby the incumbent is Hassanal Bolkiah, the Sultan of Brunei and Supreme Commander of RBAF; and a deputy minister. Sulaiman Damit (; 28 March 1941 – 8 July 2016) was a Bruneian soldier who served as the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) from 1990 until 1994. Early life and education Sulaiman was born on 28 March 1941, at Kampong Keriam, in Tutong District. He received his formal education at the Malay School in Seria from 1948 until 1952.
