Coming Home Campaign
Coming Home is a Advocacy, campaign launched on 18 May 2011 to help the UK's Servicemen and women whose lives have been changed so dramatically fighting for their country in Afghanistan and Iraq. 'Coming Home'' was established under the aegis of the Charitable organization, charity Haig Housing Trust (http://www.haighousingtrust.org.uk/ a sister charity of Haig Homes) to provide specially adapted accommodation for badly injured soldiers who are left seriously disabled from the conflicts. The Coming Home campaign aims to raise £20 million over the next few years and complements the work of the charity Help for Heroes. Coming Home was given the support of the UK Prime Minister David Cameron, Defence Secretary Liam Fox, former head of the British Army General the Lord Dannatt and the founder of Help for Heroes Charitable organization, charity, Bryn Parry. Haig Homes
Haig Housing is a charity established to provide housing for ex-servicemen in the United Kingdom and the Channel Islands. History Haig Housing was founded by Mrs Willie James as The Housing Association for Officers' Families (HAOF) in 1916. In 1995, it merged with Douglas Haig Memorial Homes, a charitable trust established as a memorial to Field Marshal Earl Haig in 1929. It now operates over 1,500 properties across the UK. Help For Heroes
Help for Heroes is a British charity which supports members of the British Armed Forces community with their physical and mental health, as well as their financial, social and welfare needs. The charity was founded in 2007 by Bryn and Emma Parry after they visited soldiers at Selly Oak Hospital in Birmingham. The charity now supports all veterans, serving personnel, those who have served alongside the UK military, and their families.
