Peter Gabriel
Peter Brian Gabriel (born 13 February 1950) is an English singer, songwriter, musician, and human rights activist. He came to prominence as the original frontman of the rock band Genesis. He left the band in 1975 and launched a solo career with " Solsbury Hill" as his first single. After releasing four successful studio albums, all titled ''Peter Gabriel'', his fifth studio album, '' So'' (1986), became his best-selling release and is certified triple platinum in the UK and five times platinum in the US. The album's most successful single, " Sledgehammer", won a record nine MTV Awards at the 1987 MTV Video Music Awards. A 2011 ''Time'' report said "Sledgehammer" was the most played music video of all time on MTV. A supporter of world music for much of his career, Gabriel co-founded the World of Music, Arts and Dance (WOMAD) festival in 1982, and has continued to produce and promote world music through his Real World Records label. Paula Dorothy Cole (born April 5, 1968) is an American singer and songwriter. After gaining attention for her performances as a vocalist on Peter Gabriel's 1993–1994 Secret World Tour, she released her first album, '' Harbinger'', which suffered from a lack of promotion when the label, Imago Records, folded shortly after its release. Her second album, '' This Fire'' (1996), brought her worldwide acclaim, peaking at number 20 on the ''Billboard'' 200 album chart and producing two hit singles, the triple- Grammy nominated " Where Have All the Cowboys Gone?", which reached the top ten of the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 in 1997, and " I Don't Want to Wait", which was used as the theme song of the television show ''Dawson's Creek''. Telephone Booth
A telephone booth, telephone kiosk, telephone call box, telephone box or public call box is a tiny structure furnished with a payphone and designed for a telephone user's convenience; typically the user steps into the booth and closes the booth door while using the payphone inside. In the United States and Canada, "telephone booth" (or "phone booth") is the commonly used term for the structure, while in the Commonwealth of Nations (particularly the United Kingdom and Australia), it is a "phone box". Such a booth usually has lighting, a door to provide privacy, and windows to let others know if the booth is in use. The booth may be furnished with a printed directory of local telephone numbers, and in a formal setting, such as a hotel, may be furnished with paper and pen and even a seat. Secret World Tour
Secret World Tour was a 1993–94 concert tour mounted by English singer-songwriter Peter Gabriel to promote his 1992 album ''Us (Peter Gabriel album), Us''. The stage show was designed by French-Canadian Robert Lepage, expressing the themes of tension and union between male and female forces, as represented by two stages linked by moving walkway. Three tour legs with elaborate staging were interspersed with two legs of much simpler World of Music, Arts and Dance, WOMAD festival dates. Many of the same songs were performed by Gabriel, and he felt that all of his large-scale performances during these two years were part of the same tour. Secret World was Gabriel's first major solo outing since his tour of 1986–87 to support the album ''So (album), So''. Afterward, he waited for almost a decade before embarking on the next tour, Growing Up, in 2002.
