"Come On, Let's Go" is a song written and originally recorded by Ritchie Valens in 1958. It was the first of four charting singles from his Ritchie Valens (album), self-titled debut album, and reached number 42 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100 in May 1958. Cover versions British teen idol Tommy Steele covered "Come On, Let's Go" shortly after Valens' hit was released in the U.S. His version reached number 10 in the United Kingdom. American rock group The McCoys recorded "Come On, Let's Go" and included it on their 1966 album ''You Make Me Feel So Good''. Also released as a single, it reached the Top 40 on the U.S. and Canadian charts. The Ramones and The Paley Brothers recorded a cover of the song in 1977, which appeared on the soundtrack to the Ramones' film ''Rock 'n' Roll High School''. Ritchie Valens
Richard Steven Valenzuela (May 13, 1941 – February 3, 1959), better known by his stage name Ritchie Valens, was an American guitarist, singer and songwriter. A rock and roll pioneer and a forefather of the Chicano rock movement, Valens died in a plane crash just eight months after his breakthrough. Valens had several hits, most notably " La Bamba", which he had adapted from a Mexican folk song. Valens transformed the song into one with a rock rhythm and beat, and it became a hit in 1958, making Valens a pioneer of the Spanish-speaking rock and roll movement. He also had an American number-two hit with " Donna". On February 3, 1959, on what has become known as " The Day the Music Died", Valens died in a plane crash in Iowa, an accident that also claimed the lives of fellow musicians Buddy Holly and J. P. ''La Bamba: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack'' is the soundtrack album to the 1987 American biographical film of the same name, released on June 30, 1987 by Slash Records and Warner Bros. Records in North America and London Recordings in the rest of the world. The first six songs of the album consist of Los Lobos covers of Ritchie Valens' songs: " La Bamba", "Come On, Let's Go!", "Ooh My Head", " We Belong Together", "Framed", and " Donna". Springbok Radio (spelled ''Springbokradio'' in Afrikaans, ) was a South African nationwide radio station that operated from 1950 to 1985. History SABC's decision in December 1945 to develop a commercial service was constrained by post-war financial issues. After almost five years of investigation and after consulting John Reith, 1st Baron Reith, Lord Reith of the BBC and the South African government, it decided to introduce commercial radio to supplement the SABC's public service English and Afrikaans networks and help solve the SABC's financial problems. Irish Singles Chart
The Irish Singles Chart is the Republic of Ireland's music industry standard singles popularity chart issued weekly by the Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA) and compiled on their behalf by the Official Charts Company. Chart rankings are based on sales, which are compiled through over-the-counter retail data captured electronically each day from retailers' EPOS systems. All major record shops, digital retailers and streaming services contribute to the chart, accounting for over 95% of the market. A new chart is compiled and released to the public by the Irish Recorded Music Association on Friday at noon. Each chart is dated with the "week-ending" date of the previous Thursday (i.e., the day before issue). Joel Carver Whitburn (November 29, 1939 – June 14, 2022) was an American author and music historian, responsible for setting up the Record Research, Inc. series of books on record chart placings. Girl In a Coma is an American indie rock band from San Antonio, Texas, United States, formerly on Joan Jett's Blackheart Records label.
