''Come Home to Mama'' is the third studio album by singer-songwriter Martha Wainwright, released on October 15, 2012. The album was recorded at Sean Lennon's home studio in New York City and produced by Yuka Honda. Guest musicians include Honda, Lennon, Wilco guitarist Nels Cline and Dirty Three drummer Jim White. "Proserpina", the album's first single, was written by Wainwright's deceased mother, Kate McGarrigle. Martha Wainwright
Martha Wainwright (born May 8, 1976) is a Canadian-American singer-songwriter, musician, and actress. She has released seven critically-acclaimed studio albums. Wainwright is the daughter of musicians Kate McGarrigle and Loudon Wainwright III and the younger sister of singer–composer Rufus Wainwright. Martha Wainwright's live performances have received critical praise, with '' The Telegraph'' writing that her concerts "leave in no doubt that she is a singular star." Jim White (drummer)
Jim Ronald White (born 1962) is an Australian drummer, songwriter, and producer. In 1992 he formed Dirty Three, an instrumental rock band, with fellow mainstays Warren Ellis on violin; and Mick Turner on guitar. In Dirty Three, White sometimes shares songwriting duties with Ellis and Turner. White has also played with various other artists including PJ Harvey, Mark Kozelek, Bonnie Prince Billy, Cat Power, Courtney Barnett & Kurt Vile, Smog, The Blackeyed Susans, Kim Salmon's STM, Venom P. ''Great Canadian Song Quest'' is a Canadian songwriting contest, presented by CBC Music. Dirty Three is an Australian instrumental rock band, consisting of Warren Ellis (violin and bass guitar), Mick Turner (electric and bass guitars) and Jim White (drums), which formed in 1992. Their 1996 album '' Horse Stories'' was voted by ''Rolling Stone'' as one of the top three albums of the year.
