Comboni College For Science And Technology
Comboni College for Science and Technology (CCST), originally Comboni College for Computer Science, is a private college in Khartoum, Sudan, established as a technical college since 2001. It goes back to the earlier school for boys, founded by Catholic priests from Italy in 1929. History Comboni College Khartoum was founded in 1929 as a boys school by Catholic priests associated with the mission of Bishop Daniele Comboni. It was managed by priests and monks, who arrived in Sudan to continue Comboni´s work in education. Since its beginning, the college catered to students both with an international background, but most of them were Sudanese children. In 1999, parents asked the management to develop a post-secondary section. In 2001, this initiative led to the present Comboni College of Science and Technology (CCST) as a separate institution from the primary and secondary sections of Comboni College Khartoum. Khartoum
Khartoum or Khartum is the capital city of Sudan as well as Khartoum State. With an estimated population of 7.1 million people, Greater Khartoum is the largest urban area in Sudan. Daniele Comboni
Daniele Comboni, MCCJ (15 March 1831 – 10 October 1881) was an Italian Catholic Church, Catholic prelate who served as Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Khartoum, Vicar Apostolic of Central Africa from 1877 until his death in 1881. He worked in the missions in Africa and was the founder of both the Comboni Missionaries of the Heart of Jesus and the Comboni Missionary Sisters. Comboni studied under Nicola Mazza in Verona where he became a multi-linguist and in 1849 vowed to join the missions in the African continent although this did not occur until 1857 when he travelled to Sudan. He continued to travel back and forth from his assignment to his native land in order to found his congregations and attend to other matters, and returned in 1870 for the First Vatican Council in Rome until its premature closing due to conflict. Catholic University Of South Sudan
The Catholic University of South Sudan (CUofSS) is a university located in South Sudan. CUofSS consists of two campuses; one in the capital of Juba, the other in Wau. The university is fairly new as it was established and operating since 2008. However, the university was founded approximately three years before the independence of South Sudan. History In July 2007, five bishops from Sudan decided to establish a Catholic university that would have campuses and institutions in both northern and southern Sudan. Education In Khartoum
Khartoum is the main location for most of Sudan's top educational bodies. There are four main levels of education: # Kindergarten and day-care. It begins in the age of 3–4, consists of 1-2 grades, (depending on the parents). # Elementary school. The first grade pupils enter at the age of 6–7. It consists of 8 grades, each year there is more academic efforts and main subjects added plus more school methods improvements. By the 8th grade a student is 13–14 years old ready to take the certificate exams and entering high school. # Upper second school and high school.
